That would require dumping ALPA. Althought I'm not completely fond of the idea, at this point it's probably an inevitibility. (And I can move my sorry arse to California where I will be taxed into poverty.)

No, it wouldn't require dumping ALPA. It would require JA changing his mind.

I converted over 50% of my 401k into Skywest stock when the the stock bottomed in the mid $6 range. I recently converted it all back to to an equity index fund when I heard hiring is being halted at XJT and SKYW. Now the stock has started dropping due to "missed opportunities".

Our pilot group will self destruct with concessions, even if it passes under a contract. People are unhappy with the way things are with the current contract. In short, things aren't going to last long. I think we've got too many senior people here to vote for anything concessionary anyway.

I also will not vote for concessions- especially being that I'm on reserve. I feel that I am gone way too much for what little money I make as it is. This belief is only compounded by the fact that we have double up on everything that runs the airline. Until SkyWest Inc. consolidates ALL of their airlines with 1 scheduling dept, management team, clarical setup, etc., they can forget flexability on my part. I could can ALPA tomorrow and not care. Especially following the PCL T/A.

We are certainly in for some challenges. Our Unical contracts start expiring at the end of this year too. Fee for departure is going away and a new business model is necessary. The MRJ's that are suppose to start arriving in 2017 coincides with a time table for winding down DCI flying and they don't fit under existing scope language.

Plan B is undoubtedly in the works. If your junior, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get on with a legacy. There are sure to be some bumps in the road ahead.
