ASA furloughs?

I have to wonder myself what is going on with the thinking of the higher ups. There are already a lot of reserves for both captains and FO's, and now there will be a ton more. More reserves to cover less flying in the fall. A lot of guys will be paid to not fly, which seems like something airline management does not like to do.
 
All of the training dept. guys say we're getting -900s and an ATR replacement turboprop on the property.

I think that's just management sowing positive outlook rumor seeds into the pilot group...but they've been doing a lot of actual program development for the -900, so maybe there's something to it.

Time (as always) will tell.
 
Hasn't BH said in 2 separate memos now that furloughs is not the direction ASA is going in to cut cost? He even mentioned internet boards causing the unrest among the pilot group.

Yet people still keep going on and on about it...
 
Skyw inc has never had to furghlough. I think they will do everything they can to keep in that way. Good luck!
