I'm doubting that any UAL furloughees will take a job at Skywest since the 16 slots that will be available will be for the Brasilia.

What would you do to fly a CRJ?

Would you kill a man?

Your SJS is astounding. When will Skywest get the CRJ1000? Did you already pay for that test drive I heard you're supposed to get? Probably going to be a hard ticket to get since there are only 100 seats and 2000 skywest pilots.

If they end up being able to be based where they live, I bet you'll have some takers. We've got at least a half-dozen UA furloughees at Compass.

FWIW, SkyWest just opened up the application window for First Officers on their web sites. Go to the Job Openings page!

Isn’t it funny how sarcasm seems to escape so many pilots. I guess they try to believe what they want. This whole PBS thing is close to sarcasm. They say growth but actually it is voting for stagnation. If we really cared about the furloughed pilots we wouldn’t vote their jobs away. Especially since they can’t vote on it.

Really cared?

So, just how much money have you donated to the furloughs?

Since we're talking about really caring.

This PBS may be a stinkin turd, but a yes vote in no way reflects "caring about the furloughs.

And while we're all yapping about "caring", let's ask ourselves how many mainline guys have been furloughed because flying was outsourced to us?

Lord knows we all lose sleep over that one!!!

Please! Give me a freakin break!!!

Now does the "difference" pay come from UA Alpa after skywest pays the rate for the aircraft flown and longevity?

In regard to the comment about voting on "stagnation".............It's "stagnation" for now, but will pick up later and pay off in dividends. Getting our block hour costs down is the number one priority for INC. Having 14 airframes at United is a TRIAL RUN for a bigger deal down the road. As of now, we've got our (ASA) name in the hat for United, USAirways, and Continental. Alot of this is steming from Republic, and their doctrine shift in game plan to "Go it alone"..............

Sure, PBS may not get our furloughs back today, but it will certainly get them back sooner, rather than later, as a result of being competative. Skywest knows we are more expensive than our counterpart- and they know how it is more important than ever to reduce our block hour costs through growth- something they are agressively seeking. Sure, Skywest Airlines grew at our expense a couple of years ago, but the next spurt of growth will be ours. This is why it is so important to get the United stuff done right, and get it right the first time. If we blow this, our future is going to look pretty bleek, as I suspect more 2/1 deals (50's for 76'ers) in the future. Growth at Delta is done, only other airlines will fill the void.................

wow... you really enjoy that cool-aid..

PBS= farther away from a job for the furloughed

"PBS wont lead to furloughs".. they furloughed then pushed for PBS.. see what they did there?

The furloughed won't come back until we get more flying...Not sure how voting this down makes us more likely to get more flying.....

PBS by it's very nature requires fewer pilots.

PBS by it's very nature requires fewer pilots.

Less flying by it's very nature also requires fewer pilots...You won't get the need for more pilots without more flying.
