Gator Hater,
You are right. It is possible that it was cancelled bc of weather. There are a number of circumstances that could have occurred that I don't know about. What I do know is- the pairing was in open time for an FO all day long. I noticed it bc I considered calling scheduling and asking to trade my nap next week for it, but was worried if I told them my name, they would draft me for it and make me fly my nap next week anyway. It was on the flow board on the same aircraft each time I checked. That aircraft spent the night in Atlanta after the flight cancelled.
It is frustrating to think that someone out there is developing matrices and making decisions that will impact me based on what I suspect is just one small piece of misinformation amid tons of other inaccuracies and bs. This one happened to frustrate me more than all the others, so I thought I would share it, for what it's worth.
Although I have to note the irony of someone on a web board telling me to stop wasting my time and do something productive, you are right again. I am off to watch my grass grow. See ya!

I guess I do have a lot of time on my hands because I see this type of thing all the time at ASA. It is easy to do when your on reserve and wondering how they are going to cover all the stuff in open time. I promise you that this was defiantly a "coding spin".

You were smart to NOT call scheduling. Per our contract, they can take away up to two days below minimum days off, and just pay you 3.95 hour/day for it. I know, it happened to me this week. They would've just said, "sure, whatever you like." and the next week's nap would have remained on your schedule.

08M - Cancelled due to late checklist completion.

08M is a delay code, not a cancel code. And I'm guessing the original poster is also confusing a delay code for a cancel code (maybe not, I don't know, I wasn't there). Delta's weather cancel code is 01A, Maintenance is 03A, Pilot is 08A, Flight Attendant is 09A, Delta Request is 19H. Just to list a few. Hope this helps.

It was an inside joke, XPOO. The vast majority of our delays are coded 08M. Work with me, pal. :D
