That's not correct. If DAL got rid of the CRJ700s, it could replace them with EMB170s. My recollection of DAL scope is that it doesn't exclude the EMB170.

You are right it does not say anything about the EMB170. But that doesnt matter because it does limit the number of seats on any plane regardless of brand of airplane.

71 seat or more is not allowed, at least any more but that is another story.
