An EMB170 was parked at the Mercury FBO in ATL Wednesday. Hearing that DCI officials were 'touring' it....

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**, I wanted to be the one to start this rumor!!!

We also saw JT take off in is PHAT B-707 with the Quantas livery, SWEEEEEEET!

I don't see why DCI would be inerested in the ERJ-170, cause of our existing CRJ700's. If they were touring it, it was probably to get an idea about the 90 seat. Those are pretty sweet looking.

I am sure someday you will be able to ride in the back of one of those 90 or 100 seaters.....Just remember what Fins said---THE RJDC ISN'T INTERESTED IN ANYTHING LARGER THAN 70 SEATERS.

Psssst. Worry and speculate not about the EMB170 -- the Delta PWA does not permit ASA or CMR to operate this aircraft type.

Yeah, I heard that we were looking at electronic flight bags last Spring. And DHC-8-Q400s last Fall. Where are they now?

Dash 8's are another fleet type and they use a lot of ramp space. According to the company brainwashing we will never see a Dash 8 on the property. As for electronic flight bags, the story is Jepps wants more for the digital data than the paper. Two other companies getting approval to begin producing digital charts and the cost may come down in the future.

It costs me over $600 a year to keep my databases up to date in my airplane, while the charts I buy probably don't add up to 1/10th as much. I see the Co's point on the electronic flight bag, for now.

And General, you are putting words in the Shark's mouth. Kindly re-read my posts ( if you have nothing better to do ).

As for the E170, I went over there last time it was at Mercury and was told "We are not allowed to let anyone other than Delta employees on board." Don't know if the snubbing means anything, but it should please some readers.

Pssst......

The Delta PWA is going to get gutted in bankrupcy court. See USAIRWAYS and their 'Iron Clad' scope, which allowed only 70 RJ's total in the whole fleet. How many are there now?

I wouldn't count on that. Besides, Delta is being run by a CEO that comes from another failed airline that DAL absorbed. That airline didn't have any RJs and according to the General, that CEO doesn't like RJs so even if he guts the DPWA, that doesn't translate to more RJ's.

Given the brilliant management in DCI, we'll be lucky to just keep what we have now.

Besides, if Delta wants more small jets they'll just cut a deal with somebody like CHQ or MESA and pay "fee for departure" so that the profits can go to another company. That's what you do when your business is run by a military whiz kid with a "portfolio".

Maybe DAL is interested in the EMB-190/195. I think thats 100-110 seats. My guess would be that mainline will operate them.

With all of the rumors swirling down at the crew lounge, the last we heard for a 100 seater (or close to that) would be a 737-700 (I know--not a 100 seater) rather than the 736 because it was close and had more range or more cargo capability. That was directly from a "suit's" mouth. He also said we QUICKLY should pass the $1 billion concession package.....

Fred Butrell

Fred Butrell said on September 8 in the Comair pilot crew lounge that Delta wanted the Embraer 170/190/195 pretty badly.

He said the product was preferred over the Canadair Jets by management and by customers. He said they were an excellent product and something Delta wanted to have for the future to compete with Jet Blue's future small jets.

He also said they would HAVE TO BE operated by DELTA CONNECTION or else they WOULD NOT be profitable. He said it was the only way they would see a ramp in the portfolio.

Maybe Delta pilots could operate them, but PILOT PAY, MX personnel to work on them, FAs, rampers, catering, and all costs would have to rival a REGIONAL AIRLINE'S. Is this possible? If so then Delta pilots would probably be flying the bad boys.

FRED BUTRELL didn't think it could happen though in the meeting with Comair pilots and FAs.

Good luck to DELTA!!!

I would not belive ANYTHING Fred bro #1 said. IF he did say that it would have been to placate the Comair pilot group and get them to actually think they would get them. Can you say WHIPSAW?? I can. I probably left there and went right over to the DL crew lounge and told them they were looking at the E-190/195's for mainline. As it stand right now, with the PWA, mainline would get them. IMHO, they **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** well should! If there is going to be any chance at furthering our careers, mainline is going to have to get bigger or those top 1500 guys leave. There are some that are happy either at ASA or CMR for the duration. Great! Those of us who would like to look a bit further down the road sure would like to see light at the end of it.

maybe DAL will set up an alter-ego company with 190/195's and have mainline fuloughs fly them. I would assume connection pay scales and connection people doing all the other work. I would also assume that connection pilots will be able to go over to the alter-ego company after all furloughs are recalled. This is probably close as we'll get to one list.
