Why anyone that would be below 45 on the crj700, would come to the 700, is just crazy. You must not look at the lines and what you will hold. For the FOs you will be jr. forever on that airplane. The senior fos on the 700 do not upgrade!! Lets see --hold 15-16 days off on the 200-- or do naps and have 10 days off, and expect to do that for about another year or longer. Not a smart move--you should have called and talked to people first.

Sounds like someone has been getting bumped down on the list!

While we are complaining, How about ATR fo's who have been trying to bid to the 200 for almost 2 years with no luck.

thats the one that really stinks

Is the 700 just differences training? Isn't it the same type as the 200? Just curious since I have flown neither of them.

Reserve on the 700 is great if you like getting paid for sitting home.

And yes, it is only differences training.

No it is not. Reserve is horrible. Scheduling will eat your young. You will get divorced. It is nothing but 6 on 1 off. I swear to all that is holy if I catch another reseve saying what blue ridge said I will shoot them.

Oh and I almost forgot. All I want for christmas is a fair contract.

Load your gun then, because Blueridge is on the money. Now granted, reserve can be one of two things...great when you're not getting used, or really miserable when your being abused. It all has to do with the current staffing situation at your airline, seat, and domicile. For now, knock on wood, life is good. 2 days worked in January...although I did have to fly about 30 hours last month, which was about 28 too much.

Reserve would be great if I knew what my days off were and the company didn't touch them. Nothing's worse than finishing day 5, having plans the next day, and finding out you've been extended for a DHN overnight.

I've been doing a lot of reserve days in the 700 and have not had them move a day off since I left the 200. At least half my duty days (usually more than that), I never hear from scheduling. I actually end up getting bored and calling them to try and fly to get some premium.

Count your blessings! Just wait until Mgt screwes up and we are short pilots again.
