Well, apparently I'm a little late- posted already.

Looks like we can look forward to being absorbed into SkyWest. At the bottom of the list.

Yeah! Time to get the ---- out of Dodge.

Over.

Correct.

Section 1 is really a show stopper.

At least prior to the SkyWest acquisition we had scope over "ASA" flying. Now that no longer exists. The loss of scope to perform the Company's flying is hugely concessionary.

Jerry Atkin says he has no desire to play whipsaw games. I would appreciate a demonstration of his integrity by authorizing a contract which would bind the company to its pilots.

Pilots have already proven they are willing to invest in their future. Pilots have spent time and money obtaining ratings and experience necessary to gain employment. If the company presented an opportunity for the pilots - I think folks would be eager to sign on.

However, when threatened pilots will organize to defend themselves. The scope offer as written, is threatening.

Overall, the contract offer is on the low side of a reasonable range. But if we can not establish who does the flying, what good is the rest of the contract offer?

Candidly, I do not understand the logic of the Company's scope proposal unless their plan is to eventually do away with ASA while keeping the flying and the airplanes in the SkyWest system. And if that isn't their plan - why insist on such a bad scope section?

~~~^~~~
Why the bad proposal on scope?
ASA is run by a band of un-educated morons! They think they are smart, and we are stupid.
Everything is as it was before; they have no plan and no clear objective.
Most would think their plan is to make money, but by looking at the mess on the ramp and their ineffectiveness to fix the problem. It is a systemic problem starting at the top and working its way down.
ALPA better move there butts and get scope or single listed. I think we can all see where this is going. Everyday we drag our feet SKYW trains more of our replacements.
If the company agrees to a good scope clause, it will come at an expense to the pilots. Look at what happened to AE and Mesa. Rather depressing!
Has anybody noticed that since BL & CT have been on the property, BL as president, the animosity level among the pilots have at least triple. I thought CT came to ASA as a peacemaker, and he is turning out to be the reason we will end up striking. All those letters do nothing but piss everybody off, and what it does accomplish is to increase the number of pilots who are sabotaging operations day in and day out. Maybe that's what they trying to accomplish, force JA to transfer all the assets to Skywest because ASA is such a chaos.
At any rate, congratulations CT your latest letter did nothing but force pilots to do something. I am in my way out, but while I am here I'll do my part; yesterday, morning flight, 45 minutes late due to MX, 3 write ups turned into 3 SP 450's. That's what they want, let's give it to them.
A fair contract, and no threats, is that too much to ask?
Also
CT&BL must resign, can we include it in our counter-proposal?
Be aware, they are tracking us with this new write your employee number in the box thing.
I for one don't give my number to MTC, if they want it they can get it from the can. Nowhere in my manuals does it say to do this.
Just a word to the wise.
You bet they are. There are people employed to track this sort of stuff down in Macon or somewhere.
Let them track all they want. If they ever discipline me for writing something up, then I'll get the FAA and media involved.
I herd that the company has spent around 12 million of lawyer fees already. I think that is more than we were asking for.
You betcha. A write-up is a write-up, and is required by the FAA. Those of you that "leave" a write-up for the next crew are the biggest wimps out here. Here's what I do. When I take a plane, and the previous crew says this is doing this, but I didn't want to write it up to delay you (meaning me), I say either write it up right now, or I'll write it up with a statement that the previous crew knew about it and didn't write it op. Aww man, you'd do that, they say. Yep, I would and will. Especially if it's ohPlease or asadriver.
Better yet, I will fill out a RIF regarding the crew failing to make the legitimate discrepancy.
I agree. I guess dropping our on-time down to 70% wasn't enough. I think we need to get it down to about 40% to get some more attention from JA and Delta. The great thing is it will not take that much of an effort to lower it that much.
I do the same. We are on bidline guarantee so why do some of our pilots want to pass off a broken aircraft to another crew. If you tell me about it you better have written it in the can.
Let 'em track it! If it's broke (at all), write it up. If it ain't broke, don't write it up. They can't touch you if you follow that rule.
Use your camera phone and take a picture of the light or message for further reference if anyone tries to come after you. Take a picture of the mtc log, especially the corrective action.
