Ok so now I can't hold reserve on the 70. I hope summer flying picks up and screws everyone of you new "proud to be reserve f@cks". I know I'm using at least one sick call on a four day so one of you new reserves gets screwed. Back off the reseve lines. Do what you people do best... Live in fear of crew scheduling. Remember screw scheduling screws with you least on a line. Bid a line. Bid a relief line.

Blueridge... If you are out there... I tried to tell you... but know you had to spill the beans. You are the reason airlines fail!

It is easy to make up your own - start by subtracting 8 hours from every day. Now subtract 10 days from what is left. The Company owns you all the rest of the time. Within the 10 days off, you have 4 consecutive days off a month that you bid for. Your other days off can be moved around, your reserve periods will be moved around. Sometimes they will move your schedule around and not bother to tell you. Also if you answer the phone on your off day - they've got you.

When you hold a line, you lose the 4 consecutive days off, but all the other rules remain at time and a half pay. After being here for years you might be able to hold holidays off. However, the Company just junior mans you and sends you right back to the airport.

This is a junior pilots schedule. RS = reserve, 19 = time reserve period starts(anywhere from 5am to 1900), GDO = Guaranteed day off.

I am a jr Capt on the 50 and reserve has not been to bad of late. It's showing signs of getting worse though. I can hold a jr line(nap or relief) but have been bidding reserve cause I can guarantee at least 4 days off that you cant on a junior line. Lately I have been averaging 20 days off a mnth and 20 hrs of flying.

But all those things that fins said can and do happen. It's a crap shoot.

Hold on.... You might be able to hold reserve. On the 70 it goes senior so you end up on relief or worse 4 days. No margaritas and the 7 day off stretch for you.

Sorry dude, but it's good news for me. There is nothing like finishing a trip and NOT having to call screw scheduling or wonder if you can go home.

Think outside the box. Go for a bottom relief line and ask for reserve or naps.

Actually, RS19 is reserve period from 7pm to 12am. Which is the BEST/shortest period you can get.

uhhh, yeah,
1900 = 7pm
I was just saying reserve can range from 5 am to 7pm start times. Sorry to confuse you. thanks for clearing it up.
