AS getting 737s certified for ETOPs?

This was reported in the Seattle Times and some other newspapers. Any AS guys on this board -- does this have to do purely with the Mexico flying or do you have something else up your sleeve?

There was some babble about Hawaii from the change janglin heel rockers but i dont think it will really come to pass

If the ETOPS is done one time, SEA to Hawaii in April 07. ANC to Hawaii some time after that. This info has been put out in SEA at PIC and SIC chit chats, as well as ANC pilot meetings - I don't know why marketing has not picked up the ball yet.

The ETOPS 737-800s are on the way at more than one per month, have seen the equipment lists and delivery dates. It's for Cancun AND Hawaii as AK737FO says.
