It's fun to make fun of the army cadets; that's why I added the disclaimer at the bottom.

As far as my previous post, it only applied to frog flyer who according to his profile, has never served and is therefore not remotely qualified to shoot his mouth off about the Army or any other branch of service.

amen to that brother.. wont lie either, wounds were extremely minor and not worth mention I suppose..... so why did I?, Don't really know.. I suppose occasionally a chip appears on my shoulder that says to me "you should have been in an F-18 and not an M1" during Gulf War I...

Actually you applied the principle of Ready, Fire, Aim at gringo too. I guess two shots, one kill is pretty good for an Army dude. Army Strong!

Gringo only suffered a flesh wound, he'll be fine. As far as the "Army Strong" slogan goes, well lets just say I'm glad to be retired! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I like the new Army commercial with the farm family and the emphasis on parental influence.
Army of one left a little to be desired, in my opinion.

What do you mean? I've heard the standards at the Marine Corps are still as high as ever, and that there's no dumbed down Basic Training or co-ed crap like in the Airforce and Navy (and non-combat Army).

Hasn't changed in god knows how long.

In my opinion, there's really only one real reason someone joins the Army- the Marines are just too tough.

My family loves the Army and Marines equally. Great Grand Dad Marine WWI, Grand dad Army WWII, Great Uncle Marine Korea and Vietnam, Dad Army Vietnam, Me Army Desert Storm.

For those who haven't seen it yet. the recruiting video that just came out with the "Army Strong" slogan is pretty cool. The "Army Strong" motto makes alot more sense in the video.

Just one time I wish the PAO geeks or whoever drives the advertising budgets would ask the guys in the field for their opinion of an Army slogan, let alone suggestions of one from scratch. Multi-millions thrown at an advertising agency for "An Army Of One". We could have told them it was DOA. Army Strong is somewhat better...but not much. For this we paid millions while unresourced Class IX needs remain underfunded. We do need recruiting slogans I guess but there's got to be a better way...
