As for thr ASU flight program, I know a United Airlines A320 First Officer that for a UAL internship through the ASU program and was hired in his early twenties. Definitely look into the program, I hear they have some nice airplanes.

My brother spent his flight instructing days at Chandler Air Park is Chandler, AZ (suburb of Phoenix). Excellent location to fly out of!!! Arizona offers it all. You can fly to Mexico for shopping, Sedona for breakfast, Las Vegas, West Coast, etc. Just an amazing location. A lot of airline pilots from airlines other than America West and Southwest reside there and commute to their hubs. Its georgeous weather without the humidity. And be sure to calculate that density altitude in the summer months!!! haha. Just my .02 cents.
