"Janet" airlines looking for 737 typed pilots. Based in LAS. You get to work alongside aliens.

I thought Bush was going harder on letting illigals into the country?

>>Any way a civilian can get that kind of security clearance to apply there?<<

Sure. Join the military, get the clearance, then get out. The whole process should take from four to ten years, depending on whether or not you fly in the service.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Any idea on salary?

As I understand it, starting FO pay is about $60K a year. Was going to interview with them, but the People Department came to the rescue! :D

Clearance

I have several friends that fly to Area 51 that didn't get the Q clearance in the military.

Must be typed huh?

The first question at the interview might be "so how did the SWA interview go?"

Do they still fly those crappy, sorry, vintage 737-200s?

Crappy? Seemed pretty cool compared to a jetstream!
Just cause it isn't fly by wire, sheesh...

As for flying with aliens, well, that's a crap shoot...
but once and a while you get to fly with a cute one!
hehehe...

I was told by a 737 pilot that some of those early "Thunder Guppy" models flew really nice though.

Funny: just a couple of years ago, a bunch of folks would have killed to be flying a ThunderGuppy in an SWA paint scheme.

I believe that a Q clearance is a DOE clearance, and would be the equivalent of a DOD TS-SCI. I'm attaching a link to a message board that discusses in detail the various clearances. It's somewhat of a conspiracy website, so of course there is plenty of discussion about Area 51.
:-)

Also, there is no way for a civilian without a clearance to obtain one without either going into the military, working for a government agency which requires a clearance, or working for a contractor in a position that requires you to obtain a clearance. In the last case the contrator must sponsor your clearance.

what about TS-SCI? Is Q just a category under TS?
