Cool I guess i have to start putting my house and kids up for sale. That's the only way I would be able to afford to be a new hire at CHQ!!

Not necessarily true but close. I would rather have a paycut of a few bucks rather than making $19.00/hr to fly a regional jet.

Actually it is true. 21 (new CHQ TA ammt) bucks is avg, maybe even slightly above for 1 year, probationary pay in a 50 seat RJ.

More good news....I just saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico!!!!!!

Mesa's website says they are not hiring either but I know they are. More good news, I sold my 10 speed for $100 and my kid for $75!! Thats like 2 months pay!! I'm ready, sign me up!!

Also, go ahead and bash Mesa but at least they are paying trainees from day one unlike PENISACCLE where you get NO pay in training, NO hotel, NO nothing!! That sucks!!

Skywest is only hiring UAL furloughs currently. Management is saying street hiring has stopped as of 9/17 and will resume in Feb or sometime about then after the UAL J4J folks are all hired. They have been extremely informative here at the training dept. Things can always change!

Its that way everywhere. Even at the Majors and Nationals, first year pay is way below what 2nd+ is.

I agree but at the majors and nationals their scale starts at way more than 21. I would take less of a cut. To go to CHQ is financial suicide for me.

I would love to fly a CRJ or anything a little bigger than a Baron. But the no pay in training is impossible for people who actually have to work for a living and not depend on their parents or trust fund or whatever. Even if I could make it that long with no pay, it's just WRONG, WRONG I tell ya.

Apples and oranges? yep. Mesa pays during training, Penisacle doesn't, simple. It's easy to bash another airline when you're already in a comfy little CRJ seat. I'm just doin the best I can.
