Was that "street cred" or just "cred"?

My friend, who has some street-cred, also says that Boeing may throw in some blings, and even a couple bitches, to sweeten the 717 deal. AQ, however, wants the 717s to be pimped out with rims, and a fish tank in row 18. Boeing says no, but will throw in the NOS for free.

Yeah, especially when you toss in the rumor that Zander was seen rubbing elbows with Branson a few months ago.

The Chings and Ings must be waiting for HAL to come out of protection so they can sell them AQ, sell cargo and contract services to the guy that owns WP, then get him to sell both of those back with this mysterious "buy-back" clause.

End result is a larger carrier for Hawaii flying 767/717/-700. Competition is provided by the fully independent WP flying Q400s or RJs as well as some left-over DHC-8-100s for Kapalua and Molokai.

Could happen.

If I were a bettin' man, I'd say this were the general flavor of the scenario. Maybe not HAL or WN, but something to this effect. Especially the part about the Chings and Ings still owning WP and cargo in the end. But RJs in the Islands???? That's a tough one for me to buy.

RJs might be a stretch but WP will have to do something to stay competitive. When Mahalo introduced ATRs, WP got Dash-8s, correct? If your competition is running around with 70 seaters (ATR-72 for "FlyinHI"?), you have to do something to stay competitive. Word is that the ownership is negotiating for Q400s. Just a rumor tho.

I heard from a "credible source" that theyre hiring those 100 guys to man the panel in the new fleet of 747's were getting for our san diego service.

Heard a similiar thing from a MX guy, but he said it would be the A380 and more trips to Vegas.

z-man and branson have been meeting, as was previously reported in their sightings. they are working out a deal to have branson take over, get rid of the 737s and transform aloha into virgin galactic. branson wants those 100 extra pilots on asap because of the overwhelming responses he's received about getting on those flights.

Talked to my friend again. He said Burt said Hawaii is out, real estate is way too expensive there, they are looking at New Mexico now.

In other news, I talked with a bud that was at the retirement party last night. He said he overheard a conversation with AQ VP, VP said the EMB190 looks like a very attractive deal. Someone asked about the 717. He said Boeing offered a good price but there is a lot more involved than the price of the airplane. They are worried about the fact that Boeing will stop production and the cost of parts, etc.
