Just curious to know if anyone from the January interview timeframe has heard anything from the 15 Feb decision board.

OK, so I'm answering myself, but I thought there may be a few out there who would like to know that at least one guy that I know has already been called.

Not me.

Glad to hear the calls are going out. Me, I'm still gnawing on my fingernails and staring at the phone. On the other hand, there's gotta be a lot of calls to make, and it hasn't been that long.

Good luck to all of us!

Just got the call!! Interviewed on the 15th of Jan. No word on GS date. Word is approx. 450-500 total for the year. That could change. Best of luck to everyone!!

Got called Wednesday from the BWI Chief Pilot. Looks like about 4 or 5 from our 12 made it through. Everyone who had their references checked got calls.

Things I did to make my day sucessful:
1. Looked up info. on the many interview gouge websites.
2. Came up with 12-15 stories that could fit into each question from the gouge but didn't memorize any answers. Just kept my memories fresh in my head.
3. Preped with Judy Tarver from HPA. She is awesome!!
4. Finished my paperwork right when it arrived at my house. Contacted old bosses and got references started that day so I wouldn't be rushing toward the end of the month before interviewing.
5. Put my logbook on computer 2 years ago with really impressed the interviewers.
6. Relaxed and was myself.

Good luck to all future interviewers and I'll see you "old dog" captains soon!!

WOOO! HOOO!

not trying to hijack the thread

Does anyone have any idea when the next DB is going to meet?

Also, how long after your interviews did references start getting called, on average. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Congrats on the calls to continue.....keeping my fingers crossed for the next DB.

I'm not sure if they're done calling for the Feb DB or not. I certainly am praying that they're not! I haven't received a call :( but I also haven't received a letter :)
I'm hoping someone can confirm/deny this: SWA typically won't call towards the end of a week because you have to do the whiz quiz within 48 hours of being called.
If that's true, then I'm hoping the postman drives right on by today (Sat) and I'll be feeling alright.
Varmint: I haven't heard any rumors yet for the March DB. I know how you feel, though! Think good things, and good luck!

For those of you who met the Feb 15 SWA DB, please sit tight a few days longer.

I spoke to a friend in training on Friday am, and he told me the board didn't completely finish on Wednesday and they were still working. He was on the bus to work with the Director of Pilot Hiring and heard this first hand...so I guess I have it second hand, and by posting it now, I guess it's heresy. ;) Hang on, I also called another friend in the PD who confirmed this.

And as mentioned earlier, SWA will not normally call you near the end of the week, due to the requirement to complete the drug test within 48 hours. Expect more phone call to come next week. :) :)

It not easy waiting...been there done that. Try to spend time with your family, friends, doing something other than thinking about all the what ifs.

Yahtz

For those who say you must do the pee test in 48 hours, I can tell you you are wrong.

I got called Wednesday and was told to call back on Monday. They didn't say why but I knew. I was working until yesterday and I guess they don't do it on weekends.

Yahtz, thanks for the update...always appreciated!
The mail just came and no letter :) I guess that's pretty good news.
SWABound...could you expound? You first said that the 48 hour deal wasn't true, then you said that they wanted you to call back because you guessed they don't do whiz quizzes on the weekend (which is basically what I was saying). Are you saying you got the call to continue, but then had to call back a few days later to set up the quiz?
Thanks.

Maybe the discriminator is that they have 48 hours from your *notification to report for drug screening*. If you haven't talked to Kim yet, then perhaps legally you haven't been *notified*. But, I have no idea.

Oh, sorry Walden. I didn't realize you said that about the weekend thing. I actually didn't know what they wanted me to call for until I read it here.

The chief pilot gave me a number to call. Since I was working they said call again Monday morning. It's longer than 48 hours but I guess not if you don't count the weekend.

Where do they do it? Will I have to travel to one of the bases or do I go to a hospital? Doesn't matter to me because I'm off Monday and leaving it wide open for SW to do what they please with me.

Walden,
In January calls were suppose to be sent out the Monday following the board. Some calls went out early (but when I talked to the people dept. they were not suppose to). The ones that were called early were told to call the PD on Monday. I was called on Monday following the board and then instructed to call the PD. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

as far as drug tests go, You'll do it where ever you live. They'll most likely give you a couple of options of where you can go. I didn't do my drug test for a week because of a little mis communication but it's no big deal. They did tell me though it's suppose to happen within 48 hours of being notified.
