US has had the E-190's on the property at RJ wages for quite a while and there has been no upward movement on rates. Beware of those jets being used as a wedge (internal whipsaw) to drag out negotiations or gut from one area to protect another.
 
When the merger goes through, we'll be negotiating up from this TA. This TA is nothing more than a bridge agreement to the merger. At that point, E190 pay and new hire pay will come up.

This is APA President Keith Wilson with the APA Information Hotline for Friday, Dec. 7.

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT VOTE RESULTS: By a vote of 5,489 for and 1,951 against, the APA membership has voted to ratify the tentative agreement. More than 96 percent of eligible members participated in the ratification by casting a vote. Voting ended at noon Central today and BallotPoint then tabulated the results shortly thereafter. APA Secretary-Treasurer First Officer Scott Shankland has certified the results as accurate.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to cast a vote in this important ratification process. I also want to thank the APA Board of Directors and our many volunteers for their efforts throughout the past year since American Airlines entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

APA will now turn its focus to helping to ensure that full consideration is given to strategic alternatives before American Airlines’ restructuring concludes. The APA leadership continues to support a merger with US Airways as the best path to a stronger, more competitive American Airlines that will in turn enhance our pilots’ long-term career prospects
 
AA wont survive without a serious offensive push at JFK.
FEED, FEED, FEED, and address the 800 pound gorilla in the corner that has been snacking for 3 years called DELTA.
USAir does nothing to help them with this problem, nothing.

Really, nothing? I thought the whole point of the proposed merger was domestic feed.

The main problem I see is that it leaves the combined airline strong domestically and in Europe and South America but still weak in Asia. Delta and UA have the Asian market pretty well cornered.

Does USAir have 75 JFK slots laying around to help AA???
This merger does nothing for TOHO and everything for Parker. Delta has swelled at JFK while AA has squandered. Another deseperate attempt by USAir to make it another decade. PHL, CLT, and PHX are but pimples if AA doesnt right the tide in JFK.
 
I don't want a merger so that Parker can take over: I want a merger so that AA can survive and thrive with Toho and cohorts OUT.

Do you think AA pilots would support a standalone plan that included ousting Toho and the BOD immediately after exiting BK?

I read an article about a group of AMR bond holders that wanted the above.

I probably would... because any smart CEO who took over would immediately seek a merger.
