I really don't want to get to involved in this but if you know or read any history of the period 1920 thru 1948 you will find that the original modern day terrorist were the Zionist. Just ask the Brit's..What come around goes around.

Wow... Just, wow.

Zionists... their mentality is just as bad as the Hamas viewpoint of eradiacating Israel. A true hard Zionist would prefer nothing more than to see Palestine disappear of the map.

But wait, Hamas just announced they're accepting a plan that in essence recognizes Israel.

What do you know, some good stuff is finally happening.

Yes, it sucks that terrorists have captured Israelis and are killing them. But don't pretend like IDF's sh*t don't stink, either.

Israel just bombed a power station, that has just knocked out power to over 1.4 million Palestinians. The Palestinian government estimates it will take 6 months and 20 million dollars to fix it. Money is a problem now since Hamas has come in power, their aid from foreign countries has fallen.

Some of what you said is correct. I'm not a zionist. I'm an anti-terroristite. I don't believe Hamas any more than I believe in the tooth fairy. WHY did Israel bomb the power station? In a response to a HAMAS action. Money is a problem, but not because foreign aid has "fallen." It's been cut off since Hamas is a terrorist organization.

By the way, who were the leading funders of the Palestinian Authority in Gaza and the West Bank? ISRAEL AND THE UNITED STATES. So much for Arab unity. Like I said earlier, other Arabs couldn't give a s*** about the Palestinians. It's more of a "enemy of my enemy is a friend" thing.

Dizel, you are a frigging idiot.

Israel voluntarily withdrew from Gaza a year ago, even though they had concerns about their security . . . guess how the Palestinians repaid them? By launching 187 rockets over the border at Israeli CIVILIAN targets. The Israelis have over 200 nuclear weapons . . . . can you imagine what the world would look like if the frigging Muslims had those weapons? The Israelis have been very, very restrained in all these conflicts.

The sooner that the Palestinians wake up to the reality that they need to coexist with Israel, the quicker all this will end. Unfortunately, they have no idea of how to live in peace, how to run a country, how to govern. You might as well give car keys to a pit bull.

Mig 29 is superior performance wise. But an IDF pilot coupled with a 15 is far superior. Will not go well for Syria if shooting starts. First the Syrians will turn off their ground radar for fear of radar seeking missles. Then the Migs will be blind and the turkey shoot will begin.

So when was the last time you fought a Fulcrum?

Summer 04. The MiG is capable, but it's not at the same level as the -15/-16/-18. I usually ignore those who pop off about the great Russian fighters because they've seen a few propaganda vids.

Cannot say for sure, haven't spoken to all Palestinians, but those that I have spoken with or read about wants to enjoy the very same things in life we do. freedom, family and a good life. While it may be easy to be judge all without the benefit of reason, it would be ill advised to do so. Conversely, there are those who need to be dealt with most harshly!

I've not spoken to every Palestinian either, but people who value "freedom family and a good life" do not applaud when one child blows himself up to murder other children.

Israel is far from perfect, but they are fighting for their own survival. The others are fighting for Israel's destruction.

We'll see if Russia feels threatened by an "Islamic bomb" when the Iranians use it as leverage for the muslim Chechen separatists.

Who cares it if makes arabs feel all warm and fuzzy for Iran to have a nuke? Iran is actively supporting people who saw the ********************ing heads off of people in cold-blood. Who the ******************** does that in 2006?

An 18 year old civilian was kidnapped and executed, and the headlines on CNN and Fox are "Israel expands offensive" stuff. Why? BECAUSE THE WORLD IS USED TO SEEING MUSLIMS ********************ING EXECUTE PEOPLE IN COLD BLOOD. Dog bites man. ********************ing savages. I hope Israel levels the whole West Bank. The Palestinians don't deserve the own dang country.

Not to mention that the US antique media is absolutely afraid of saying anything that may spark "offense" in Muslims. They know they could be targeted personally--basically they are afraid for their lives.

Shack. They've seen what happens to European journos who speak their mind. Honor killings are nothing to these people. It's awesome to have a press that will do anything for the Pulitzer, but nothing for integrity.

You're both right and wrong. The Brits did in fact label the Palestinians who opposed them as terrorists even though they only had military targets. (Notice I used the word "Palestinians", which since you've read up on the history you know is how the Jews of Palestine were referred to.) Where you go wrong is by considering the Brits justified in their labelling. Just look at how they ruled the subjects of their Empire.

As long as we are getting political, from a recent article:

The combined annual GDP of 57 Muslim countries remains under $2 trillion.
Original sender says: You're smoking funny cigars if you consider their being blessed with oil in the ground as being "produced"....they don't produce crap!
America, just by herself, produces goods and services worth $10.4 trillion; China $5.7 trillion, Japan $3.5 trillion and Germany $2.1 trillion.
Even India's GDP is estimated at over $3 trillion (purchasing power parity basis).
Oil rich Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Kuwait and Qatar collectively produce goods and services (mostly oil) worth $430 billion;
Netherlands alone has a higher annual GDP while Buddhist Thailand produces goods and services worth $429 billion.
Muslims are 22 percent of the world population and produce less than five percent of global GDP.
Even more worrying is that the Muslim countries' GDP as a percent of the global GDP is going down over time.
The Arabs, it seems, are particularly worse off. According to the United Nations' Arab Development Report:
"Half of Arab women cannot read;
One in five Arabs live on less than $2 per day;
Only 1 percent of the Arab population has a personal computer, and only half of 1 percent use the Internet;
Fifteen percent of the Arab workforce is unemployed, and this number could double by 2010;
The average growth rate of the per capita income during the preceding 20 years in the Arab world was only one-half of 1 percent per annum, worse than anywhere but sub-Saharan Africa."
The planet's poorest countries include Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Somalia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Mozambique. At least six of the poorest of the poor are countries with a Muslim majority.
Conclusion: Muslims of the world are among the poorest of the poor.
Fifty-seven Muslim majority countries have an average of ten universities each for a total of less than 600 universities for 1.4 billion people;
India has 8,407 universities, the U.S. has 5,758.
From within 1.4 billion Muslims Abdus Salam and Ahmed Zewail are the only two Muslim men who won a Nobel Prize in physics and chemistry (Salam pursued his scientific work in Italy and the UK, Zewail at California Institute of Technology). Dr Salam in his home country is not even considered a Muslim.
Over the past 105 years, 1.4 billion Muslims have produced eight Nobel Laureates while a mere 14 million Jews have produced 167 Nobel Laureates.
Of the 1.4 billion Muslims less than 300,000 qualify as 'scientists', and that converts to a ratio of 230 scientists per one million Muslims.
The United States of America has 1.1 million scientists (4,099 per million); Japan has 700,000 (5,095 per million).
Fact: Of the 1.4 billion Muslims 800 million are illiterate (6 out of 10 Muslims cannot read).
In Christendom, adult literacy rate stands at 78 percent.
Consider, for instance, that Muslims constitute 22 percent of world population with a 1 percent share of Nobel Prizes.
Jews constitute 0.23 percent of world population with a 22 percent share of Nobel Prizes.

More Fodder for the cannon.

I'm suprised that our religous contengent here on fltinfo has nor brought up Armageddon or Revalations.

I hope one of the previous posts on this thread are false, about Hamas firing a Chemical shell into Israel. We have held back the pitbull for decades and if the palastinians resort to chemicals or biological weapons, all bets are off. Israel will utterly decimate any force that uses those tactics..

oh yeah, ;) the rapture is close at hand

No follow up on the chem report. Must have been a false report from reuters or Hamas.

Sigh. Have you looked in a cockpit of a MiG-29? Flown an F-15C with a HMCS/Aim-9x/FDL? Suite 5? Didn't think so.
Instead, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express....Smart....Very Smart....

Magnum,
Maybe he's just focusing on the power and very slight turn advantage the -29 has over the F-15. Obviously that can and has been proven to be a non-factor with the right driver and all the toys you listed, but a guy w/ no first hand experience and just looking at #'s might get lead astray.
Shoot, I'd consider a -29 driver godlike if he was able to get to a turning fight alive vs. a 1990's vintage Eagle, never mind today’s bird with all the sweet toys.

Just Wait

I wonder how long before the IAF purchases a few Raptors. Then the Mig 29 argument will be even more moot. My money's on the IAF pilot in the Eagle over any raghead in any platform including the Eagle.

Well I guess the F15 is a Boeing product, which is quite funny then if you liken Mig to Airbus.

104 to 0 kill ratio Eagle vs all comers, some of them Mig 29.

I have a piece of a Mig 29 in my living room, it came from one of the two ship that tried to play with a couple F15c's over Bosnia. Both shot down by one F15.

Mig 29 superior to any U.S. fighter Technology, Pffttt!!

Absolutaly not. Dude, we got that no shaky thing.

Speaking of which, any of you military types have any word on how the F-22 flys and how the crews like them?

Despite the delays, it looks like one mean machine.

Nu

:rolleyes: crews?? Any self respecting single seat fighter pilot is going to scoff at that. ;)

Lighten up any time there, Francis. You're little "winkie" at the end of your post ain't foolin' anyone here.

You centerline theorists need to lighten up. It was funny.

But to the point when I flew "targets" around I was always more concerned with the Flanker. Seemed like better technology and enough gas to stay in the fight for awhile - any of zipper suited sun gods care to comment?
