Sorry to hear about that Hobbes. There are a lot of shifty people around that would do something like that if they thought they could get away with it. If they are asking for money up front that would certainly raise a big red flag to me as well.

There is lots of new corporate aviation in the area and certainly a need for qualified pilots so keep looking and you might find something worthwhile. I'll be at the Dubai Airshow this week and will see who may be hiring. Royal Jet out of Abu Dhabi and a couple other charter operators are expanding rapidly.
