Anyone in the AWAC class starting Feb 20th?

[bizzum]

Anyone?

[Mav204]

Bizzum...Congrats on getting the Job! Your going to enjoy the warm weather in ATW!

[bizzum]

yeah i bet...what is it like 10 degrees for the high.....good thing i grew up in that cold a$$ weather

[CaptETWes]

Yeah, buddy...I'm one. When did you interview?

[bizzum]

Feb 7th. got the call yesterday the 14th......u???

[CaptETWes]

Jan. 9th. Was told my Sara that they made typed-Independence guys a priority for the Feb. 6th class...wasn't called until Jan. 23rd.

[CaptETWes]

what am I talking about...make that Jan. 11th interview.

[bizzum]

you ex indy?

[CaptETWes]

heck no...this is my first 121 gig. all instructing time, you?

[bizzum]

current 121

[CaptETWes]

sweet...see you Monday. I'm on the ORD-ATW flight Sunday afternoon just for the record.

[Mav204]

the current class has aot of 121 and 135 guys, only 1 or 2 instructors

[saviboy]

the recruiter from AWAC called me on the 30th and asked if I would like my interview on the 7th or 15th... I said 15th cause of my schedule.
Monday, I received a call from AWAC telling about the postponing...was furious to have said the 15th...:crying:
I guess everything happens for a reason.

[bizzum]

yeah i got the earlier one.....1155 i think

[bizzum]

yeah they said due to reduced attrition and the need to upgrade and transition the 146 guys they wont be running another class till the 8th of May....

[CaptETWes]

yeah, 1155 sounds close, into ATW by 1244pm or so? see you then

[bizzum]

thats it...see ya in ord

[mavdog]

yeah they said due to reduced attrition and the need to upgrade and transition the 146 guys they wont be running another class till the 8th of May....

Yeah... I had an interview scheduled for next week on the 22nd, but they called and canceled... said attrition had really slowed down.

[Night_Flight]

I know of a 141 guy who will be in your class. We have been hiring a lot of pilots the past few months. I guess we slowed down to see what happens with many of our senior Denver folk. No one knows yet if they retire or transfer to the East Coast once we leave UAL.

We are still having quite a bit of attrition. It's better to have a good number of crews instead of overstaffing...although I though we were still short pilots.

Anyways, Welcome to AWAC!

PS-Did you know we all get a raise in March!!!

Congratulations!! I interviewed on Feb. 9th. I haven't heard anything yet. I was hoping to sneak into the Feb 20th class if I get hired. I guess right now thats a big if. Has anyone that interviewed on the 8th or 9th heard anything yet? I guess if the next class isnt till may 8th, we will be put into a pool. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

[Crossky]

heck no...this is my first 121 gig. all instructing time, you?

Congrats to you! I hope your training goes well.

Excuse me for interrupting, but I don't really care for your 'current position' listed as AWAC FO, however. Are you really an AWAC FO now as I write this?

Your class starts Feb. 20th, and after you pass your training and OE, then you'll be an AWAC FO. Again, I wish you the best in training.

Profile nazi's...gotta love em!!!

They interviewed to be a AWAC F/O and were hired to be a AWAC F/O.

Glad to see someone is so excited/proud to be here that they can't wait to tell the disfunctional FlightInfo family. Let em be.

[CaptETWes]

Thanks for the backup FlyinPiker. I also understand the stance of Crossky and of course no disrespect was meant to those that are out on the line nor is this arrogance on my part. I am very proud to be apart of AWAC and stand ready to do my part for the company. Thanks for the encouragement, too. For the record, our status with the company is changed to Pilot after completing the first two weeks of Indoc, not IOE (so says the offer letter). As a gesture of good faith I will change it just to FO, as not to step on any toes. Some will say I should change it to "trainee" and some will say I should keep it. Regardless, I'm not an imposter. As the above member stated I was hired as an FO and I'm proud to be such. I look forward to working with you.

Yes, I am so excited about the fact that this is a childhood dream of mine come true and the culmination of my tireless efforts over the years. Thanks for the input.

[Highflight1977]

I'm in the Feb 20th class, see you guys on sunday/monday morning!! (Now Former 141 guy)

Welcome

To all the newbies joining the AWAC family. Welcome. Its not a bad place to work or play.
While in ATW you have to check out Ravens, downtown on College Ave. Great electronica music in a lounge type setting. Very nice. Also live music daily and some bands on weekends and up to this time no cover!
Have fun and good luck

[livinadream]

as before

Ravens is owned by an AWAC employee....dont think ur getting anything for free! There are free placeses to eat during weekdays ( Good Company...happy hour) just look at the local artsy paper.

Have Fun!
