Anyone get hired at SWA recently w/o references called?

Recent interview…and no references called yet, but others in the group have had theirs called.

Thanks!

Not buying the no references called, I would believe you don't know who they talked to. Example, they call your work place asking to speak to Mr xyz who you have as a reference, secretary abc answers, and knows alot about you, alot, as in everything, you have just "had your references" called.

Don't get me wrong, this is usually good. Best story I heard was a guy who had his references called, got a neighbor by mistake, they talked for 30 minutes, he got hired.

A friend of mine was fired w/out references called. He did have some online ref. from SWA pilots so that might have been why. My ref. were called & his weren't and we were both drinking dollar beers at the Renaissance so don't get too worried.

Interviewed in early Dec; no references called yet while others have.

Didn't get the immediate rejection letter either so who knows.

I work for a legacy carrier and I really don't think that amongst 7000 pilots anyone in ATL knows who the heck I am, so its probably done via letter confirming my clean career. My military stuff can be confirmed via my discharge papers.

We'll know in another month.

For now, HAPPY FESTIVUS 2 ALL!

Could be a faulty memory on my part. But were you not on this board touting how much your husband love the frac world? Would never go back to airline flying?

I think the old saying of no news is good news applies here. The Chiefs are the ones that make the calls for offering jobs and this time of year most of them have vacation time they havent used yet and are out of the office till next year.

I still remember when I got he call. It was a great feeling. Best of luck to your hubby. 2007 just may be your year! ;-)

Remember this-- Just because they are not calling YOUR references doesn't mean that they aren't calling their OWN references to check you out. I found out in a round-about way that SWA called 3 of my people and at least 3 other people that I don't even know (two internal and one check airman at my company). If you think they aren't checking up on you, think again.

It took then almost three weeks to call my ref's - don't worry no news is in fact good news.. untill you see the thin envelope from the mailman...
Keep your chin up.....
