I'm curious to hear if anyone has jumpseated to Cabo San Lucas and on which airline they may have done so. Thanks.

Alaska might, I think. Surf trip?

I've jumpseated on America West with no problem. Remember to bring your Visa card, taxes for leaving Cabo are around $60.

Alaska goes!. Bring your visa to pay the airways taxes though. I don't know how much they are now.

Alaska. They were great to me a few years ago. They lost my bag and even had it delivered all the way to the marina area the next morning.

I jumpseated in August 2001 from IAH to Cabo using CAL. August is a down month for tourist.. most of the ppl drive from lower Cali down there in the summer months, so the loads arent too bad. Luckily i had a spanish speaking person with us, because the cab driver was charging the equivelant of 50 us dollars to our hotel from the airport (the airport is no where near cabo downtown). Like everyone else is saying.. the departure tax is substancial.. so have extra cash for that.. but also, the Capt of the CAL flight that i used to jump out on said that i was lucky to use a "jumpseat" saying that they are normally weight restricted out of Cabo (SJG). Reguardless.. great place, fun time down town.. and yes.. mas takilluss!!! (sp on purpose)

I'm jumpseating down to SJD tomorrow 9/13 on HP. I'm connecting in PHX from another city. Do I pay taxes in the originating city, or at the gate in PHX? One more Q. Does HP happen to allow offline jumpseaters on the FA jumpseat?

My trip at the end of the month ends in Cabo with a three day layover. More than likely I'll be rerouted to the big sand box again.

I have taken Alaska to Cabo from LAX. Wonderful experience. Cabo was great too. I found it easiest to bring your passport, but your birth certificate works too. You need them to prove citizenship. It was about $25 for taxes and fees, bring a credit card and it's painless. Cash takes more time.

It's tougher getting back to the states than it is getting to Cabo. You have to find the Captain before he gets to the plane and get his/her permission. I waited at the ops office by baggage claim. The agents know the routine and will help you as long as you're not "difficult/dificil".

I was given first class both ways and treated very well. I extend my kudos to all the Alaska people involved as they all went above and beyond the call.

The prices in the duty free at the gate are pertty good too. I bought a litre bottle of Herradura Reposado that's worth about $75 in the states for $34 and got a free shot glass too.

I have also flown on American to Cabo..

As of a trip I did last week, Airport to San Jose Del Cabo is $20 , San Jose to Los Cabos is $35 , so depending where you are the $50 rate might have been legit. After spending 5 days there I can finally say there is a bright side to the charter biz.....

If you go to the terminal that does not accomodate AA, there is a bus service that will take you to any hotel in Cabo and it's less than $15US. You may get a time share pitch, but it's not that long a ride.

$50 for the cab is about right.
