I'm thinking about purchasing a ticket on Aeromexico or Mexicana but have never flown on either of them. None of the U.S. airlines fly to where I'm going. (Aguascalientes, MX)

If you've flown on them, how was it? How was the flight? How was the service? Thanks in advance.

I would go with the Mexican Airlines. Better service than ANY US Airline...Wayy far!

ESS pwr is right, ExpressJet has been flying down there for years. When I flew for them we stayed at a nice hotel next to the bull-fight arena and during carnival (I believe it's around Feb if I remember) that is one happening place. Those were good times.

Continental ( Express Jet) flies to Aguascalientes from LAX and IAH.

appreciate the info. I'll be flying there from the east coast (Miami) and was hoping to skip the whole RJ experience. I know Aeromexico and Mexicana both have direct flights to Mexico City with connecting flights.

Anyone have any experience flying on either air carrier?

Both are fine, I have flown them both, NUMEROUS occasions. AeroMexico is a Delta partner and Mexicana an AA partner airline.

Actually serve food on the flights too.

Mexicana A-318's are a little cramped inside, but oh well.

New (leased) fleets, with good MX.

FYI, AA flies 737-800's from KMIA to Mexico City and sometimes 757's. You might be able to ticket it so you ride AA to MMMX then the Mexicana feeder to AGS.

Of the major latin carriers, I have absolutely no problem flying

AeroMex
Mexicana
TACA
LAN Chile (great!)
Avianca

Aeromexico GDL-LAX (DAL codeshare). Great Service. We finished a trip in Guadalajara, and were still in uniform, and although we had coach tickets, they made us sit in First Class.

Thanks for all the info. I purchased a ticket on Aeromexico and found a reasonable airfare. What's the airport like in Mexico City? Is it a zoo? Is it comparable to Atlanta or DFW or ORD??

It's a bit of a zoo; not world class up-to-date looking facilities. However, there's plenty of good Mexican food including fast food (not Taco Bell) on the upper level outside of security. The airport has plenty of duty free, internet, etc. stores throughout the crowded large complex.

I've flown Aeromexico dozens of times to Cabo to pick up/return from trips down there and have no problems at all. Service is always good and the FA's have always been great, not mention usually easier on the eyes than I've seen in the US. Just my opinion. Good trip.
