He's at it again to another unwitting bunch of pilots. He allegedly admits to loving it.

Bud Rude, and his homosexual son, love to tale smack about closing Wien Air Alaska!! Somebody should close them!!

God how many scabs got made because of this guy??

Bud Rude is loosing his mind though, so it won't be long he will forget about Wien like eveybody else has forgotten about him!!

I've heard some stories about him. I believe one thing he did is he would fire/rehire new probabtionary pilots to keep them on probabtionary pay. If I'm wrong excuse me, believe that was Bud.

What else did he do?

GO BLUE!

Buckeyes Suck, GO BLUE

That's unfortunate. Your "blue" blew it three of the last four years. Keep your head up though. They'll be good again someday. You just wait...remember the wolv-urine motto "Oh, yeah, well...we'll maybe beat you guys next year or something...I hope!"

In the meantime, my team that...as you say,"sucks" will probably just keep on winning.

Thanks for the laugh...you're a funny guy!
Q: Why don't they teach drivers ed and sex ed on the same day in Michigan?
A: It's too hard on the mule.Q: What do you call a Michigan cheerleader with two brain cells?
A: Pregnant.

Where is Bud now? Selling Donuts again? I've heard of Jim Flood flying on Alaska, and the Pilots welcome everyone aboard "Wien Air Alaska". Also ex-Wien F/A's still carry napkins and serve drinks to him on the them...

He's allegedly busy destroying pilot careers (and at least one life) at Air Tahoma. You wouldn't believe what he allegedly makes his pilots go through to make him more dough. They are non-union of course...Air Tahoma is a DHL and FEDEX sub-contractor based here in Columbus OH (LCK).

Ann Arbor is a whore!
How do you get to Michigan? North untill you smell it west untill you step in it.

I worked for Bud and Noel at "Cool Air", the predecessor to "Air Tahoma". Bud is your basic a$$ hole dictator, ruling his short time employees with fear, lies and intimidation. He's surrounded by a few a$$ kissing yes men who have been with him forever, and everyone else is just cannon fodder. If I had known anything about the man before I took the job at Cool Air I would have found alternate employment. As it turned out, I only lasted 6 months by the time I decided I better go before something bad happens to me or somone else.

Bud had two of his planes leased to a company I worked for, and he also worked it into the agreement that he was a line pilot there. I was flying one of his planes, and found myself doing a parallel approach to the 16's in SEA with Bud in another plane. I kept it fast and clean, and blew his doors off on final. At no time did I violate our ops manual, FARs, the POH, or good operating technique. I simply planned ahead, whereas Bud did not. I was parked and unloading my freight when he finally staggered into the ramp and shut down. He was pi$$ed at me, but rather than talking to me, he ran like a little schoolgirl into the office and whined to the owners of my company. I came in about 15 minutes later, and he was still blubbering. The owners asked me about it, I explained exactly what I had done, and pointed out that I got the freight there a few minutes quicker than Bud. They turned around and asked him why he HADN'T gone faster. I laughed in his face and walked out. What a clown.

BR will forever do what he wants and get away with it. His spawns, the feds, his mechanics and pilots will never stand up to him. Ever.

Wien Air...

There is currently a lady Captain at United who has her own "Ask the Captain" column for a major national newspaper.

She is a TWO-time scab... once at Wien, and after she left them for United, she scabbed again at United.

Just who do you have to sleep with to get your own column after being a two-time scab?

Ah, yes...I remember this "lady"

An excerpt from a Denver news article:

She (Meryl Getline)obtained a DC-10 jumbo-jet rating by the time she was 27, then flew for the now-defunct Wien Air Alaska before signing on with United in 1985.
"I had always wanted to go with United, because I'd flown it as a kid and they treated me well. I also liked their routes, I liked their airplanes and I liked their paint job," she says with a laugh.

"But my timing was spectacularly off."

She first sought a position with United in 1977, but at the time, the company only hired male pilots, and her application was rejected. Only a few months later, United hired its first woman pilot.

The second time she applied, in 1985, she got an interview. But it was only a few months before the Air Line Pilots Association went out on a contentious 30-day strike, and her decision to accept an offer and start training on United planes later got her blacklisted.

"To this day, there are people who consider me a scab, even though I never flew a revenue-producing flight during the strike," she says.

It still sounds pretty scabby to me and now you say she was a scab a Wein? Not so nice

Are you sure she scabbed at Wien? She's on the list as a UAL SCAB and the notes say she worked at Wien, but she's not listed as a Wien SCAB.

Wien Air striked May 8, '77. I dunno in what way she's listed on the scab list. There was another thread that mentioned that she had been a scab at Wien.

I'll see if I can find some links. Everything I've found so far for her and the Wien Air strike is "archived" and I have to pay to view. I don't wanna pay.

I've got the Wien list at home...I'll check it...

How pathetic for her to argue over technicalities 20 years later. She wasn't one of the heroic 570 that kicked UA in the face. She was a Fleet Qualified pilot they hired for the express purpose of quickly placing on the line. The fact that the strike ended before this could take place is irrelevant.
