Is Air Whisky going to resume hiring? Or is it a done deal for awhile. I read somewhere they were going to resume some hiring in the spring.

The website is still saying no openings. Yet people have been posting interview gouges the past couple weeks.

Instructing buddy of mine got the call today for a phone interview....my impression is that attrition has been a little higher than expected after the United flying was finished back on April 15th.....Mgmt seemed to think that all of the 146 guys would want to take the pay cut and start commuting to the east coast.....don't think it's working out quite like they had planned

the current hiring is for people who had an earlier interview date that then got cancelled because of the guys transitioning from the 146 to th CRJ. Also, a lot of people get their resumes walked in, so why hire off the street when someone is being referred?

Sounds like it is about time to go into stalker mode. Email, snail mail, fax, telegraph, maybe even skytypers to deliver the old resume.

Classes are being held May 8th and early June. Only ones scheduled that I've heard. Just referred a buddy who got the May 8th class, so I strongly second the above post about walk-ins. Also, hiring is only due to attrition which can be good or bad for those waiting to be called. Best of luck to all; this is a great place to be.

We are conducting many interviews once again. I have a close friend who is interviewing on May 2nd and he received his interview call two weeks ago.

His resume was "Walked In" after we began hiring again.

Good luck to those who apply!

I just got a telephone interview today and then given an interview date of May 18th. I had one of my buddies walk my resume in a week ago, first time I ever applied. As far as I know they are only taking resumes with pilot recommendations.
I am excited because this is one of the top three regionals on my list that i wanted to go to. Now it is just time to study up!

Basically all above is how it is playing out.

There were a bunch of people who had interviews lined up that got cancelled and those are the first ones to get the call if they were still interested. With walk in's this seems to be the way as the company now have a little form for those walking in the resumes with a bunch of questions on it like "have you flown with XYZ?" "do they know they are flying out east and know that moving might be better" etc. They got burn't a little with walkins who were a friend of a friend etc and didn't cut it which looked bad on the person referring them.

Attrition is up again, company plan on about 16 new Captains a month and thus FO's to fill these slots. Plus not all the 146 guys are staying.

***This is exactly how it is right now. Received emails from the company telling us that they are hiring only ones that were previously asked in. They are also taking references only right now after you fill out some kind of survey to cover their butts.

Send your stuff in. The worst that can happen is you don't get a response. People are still leaving (maybe not in the quantities they were a little less than a year ago), but they are still moving on. There is the May and June classes, but it wouldn't supprise me to see another tacked on somewhere in the middle...
