Alright, so I'm pretty much warn out on the whole flying thing, as a living anyway. I love airplanes, I love flying but I dont want to be a pilot as a primary source of income for the rest of my life. Does anyone have an ideas on what I might explore outside of the flying part of aviation?

Thanks!

Wow, one reply for the smartass comments to start. I guess its inevidible. Yes I have a degree, its a BS in Aviation Technology (oops). I very much so enjoy teaching but there is no way in hell I'd be a flight instructor again like I was back in the day. Perhaps some kind of classroom thing or something.

Go to a CTI school. There are I think 13 of them. become and air traffic controller and when ur older get ur CFI and do atc and instruct on the side for fun... if you dont want to go back to school. use ur degree for some tech job

It is interesting how many pilots feel this way and it is not a small number. There just seems to be no future.

Amish Rake (WTF?),

How do I get into that? Keep in mind I'm a regional FO with no money.

You wont necessarily need money to start out. Get a realtors license and work with someone who is currently doing this and work off part of his commissions. After a while you just start flipping property. Loans and commisions will provide the income. Im not an expert on it, but I know people who have gotten into it and made very good money. Own hours too.

Selling real estate isnt too hard and the money is good. Commerical real estate will yield higher profits.

Many people even underbid on fixer-ups of private homes and turn a profit. They have connections to cheap labor to renovate the house, selling it at a great profit.

Usually you only need 10 - 20% of the sale price to buy. Get a loan or use your own cash, you could even find small investors who will get a little return on your profit.

Just one line of work you could get into if you're done with the airlines.
