Any Idea what the commute from STL to Houston would be like?

No, commute is not easy. CHQ does not serve IAH out of STL. They may in coming months, but for now XJT is the main server out of STL to IAH. Not sure if AA has any service from STL to IAH. Just did the flight today with a jumpseater on board, and he told us that most flights are full, and usually have a few commuters on them. Good luck if you are planning on doing it.

The only way besides XJT to get there is AA through DFW, try getting on one of those flights. Or South West to hobby then take a bus, if it still runs, to IAH. When is your interview flyinsick? You will get the job unless you screw up, all four TSA guys on the 3rd got picked up. Im planning on moving down there, do you own a house here in STL?

No house yet. I'm working on setteling down in STL. I'm wondering if EXJ is an option for me. Does EXJ have a commuter clause?

I did the commute for a while. XJT is the only airline that does STL-IAH. That might change with CHQ in Jan. You can take Southwest to Hobby and then take a shuttle to IAH. The shuttle takes a while and it cost 10-15 dollars. I tried not to do that unless I really had to. The flights are usually full, and there are descent amount of commuters. XJT does have a commuter policy. I believe you just have to list on two flights with an open seat (jumpseat included). I never had to use it but I hear they are pretty good about it. I did that commute for 8 months full-time and still do it (about 40%) of the time. It's a tough commute that has roughly 5 or 6 fairly senior XJT guys on it plus about the same number of CAL guys. The number of commuters increases every-day with the amount of EX TSA people that get hired. The airplanes are LR's 95% of the time and LR's are weight restricted 100% of the time on STL-IAH (especially with a WX alternate) so the crew has to work past that to get you in the jumpseat. Maybe once a week an XR comes to STL, never ERs or short-jets. I figure I am in the J/S about 65% of the time on STL-IAH and back. Curentley all of the XJT guys list as non-revs and work it out but as the numbers increase it's going to be more difficult and to be honest the Jr. guys are going to get bumped. Hopefully CAL puts a 73 or two on it when they lose 25 RJ's worth of block hours. Good luck and make sure you list as a PS3 so you don't get you're ass beat when someone shows up 20 min prior just to find out you "snaked" the J/S from them. See you there.
