If there are any horizon pilots on here that would be willing to help a furloughed TSA pilot get a job please PM me.

Sorry for straying from the original topic. Got a call from PDX for interview but I missed the call. Call her back and left a message but no response yet. It has been two days now. Can anyone help?

Nope. You are pretty much sunk. Too many other qualified and interested candidates waiting in line.

Relax 8AF, same thing happened to me. They are very busy runing interviews. They will eventually call back once they get time.

How did you send the resume? Just curious as I have one in, also. I filled out the online app/attached resume. I understand that's relatively new. I know from previous experience that there are some employers who only look at the online stuff while others almost completely ignore it.

Same here, online app. Perhaps my current 121 job gives me some advantage + 121 dispatch exp. However, I am about 10 credits short of a 4 yr, don't know if that will sink me but heck I can stay at Eagle worst case.

Joking?

Yea I have a M.S. in Aviation Safety so I exceed that requirement.
Yeah you meet one their requirements. Don't you have like 400 hours, and no prior aviation experience before TSA?

I heard today that QX will be hiring 68 more this year...doesn't sound like a lot, but for Horizon it is. Also heard that Frontier will be adding 500 hours of flying for Horizon. Just a rumor...no "reliable source" to back it up.

Why leave eagle for Horizon?

Yea, again another ass hole kicking a fellow pilot while he is down(are you a blowjet pilot or just want to be?). I will admit I was low time when hired at TSA, I did not go to a PFT place and then get preferential treatment at TSA because of it. Several of my class mates(who just got furloughed as well) were and they were good people, maybe not the sharpest in the drawer since they were so new into aviation, but not bad at all. They all passed training, which cant be said for all 2000 hour flight instructors. There is more to the flying experience than total flight time. I might not meet horizons total time requirements, but I have almost 500 hours of 121 jet time which counts for something. I know alot of military aviators who get out after their 10 years flying and dont have 1000 hours, so hours and ********************. Also, no prior aviation experience, I have a B.S. in aviation, an M.S. in aviation(do you have a highschool diploma) and grew up with a father who is a pilot, an uncle who is a pilot and a grandfather who was a pilot. I guess I had no clue what I was getting into and no clue about anything aviation related. So if you have nothing constuctive to add to my post, please DONT POST. Thank you.

calm down. I'm pretty sure the 1000 hour requirement @ QX is hard regardless of previous part 121 time.

That has no bearing on your flying ability. Just sounds like the old "my dad can beat up your dad" routine.

What a d0uchebag post!!!!!!!

Where did you come from? And how many hours did you have when you got hired?
