Anyone hear from Frontier lately? There was no mid-Feb. class, and poolies I know have not been called yet for any March classes. Has new hire training been put on hold indefinitely?

Thanks

Not hardly

Our training machine is in high gear, and I've seen folks waiting for interview at headquarters recently.

We've got classes starting every two weeks so I'm not sure where you got the info that no mid February class is going, and as far as I've heard things are on track for the two a month classes into the future.

Good luck!

I don't know where they are getting

their interviewies from. They may be taking internal resumes or it may be from the pool, but the new on-line application system isn't in place yet as far as I know.

I was thinking about Fox 2's info, and it may be that the training in med February and March MAY be taken up by transitioning/ upgrading crews from within.

We have a lot of activity going on with 737s going away, Airbus(i) coming to replace them, and fleet growth over the next several months so this is entirely possible.

But don't lose hope. We are doing a bunch of hiring.

Good Luck!

Is that 500 PIC that Frontier requires have to be turbine or just general PIC time?

I think...

it is just straight PIC, but I've heard that 5000tt and 121 time are competitive. I don't know about PIC.

What is the secret code to get an interview at Frontier? They appear to have a "good old boy" system in effect, disregarding more qualified candidates in favor of hiring "buddies." Correct me if I'm wrong. I know of many very qualified pilots, including myself, who have been unsuccessful in our attempts to obtain an interview for almost a year now.

For those of you getting interviews, did you have an internal LOR? Inquiring minds want to know!

I know a very qualified pilot who applied for 6 years before getting hired with no F9 LOR. He recommended another very qualified pilot who never got called. You may think your qualifications merit special consideration. You may think an LOR merit special considerations. One things for sure if you're someone who becomes 'disgusted' over things you have no control over, it probably won't matter if you do get an interview.

I've been trying for over five years with up to four LORs . . . nothing. I don't think I'd call my 3600TT with 2300 121 Jet 'highly qualified', though. Who knows?

I've been trying since I got hired

to get others interviewed. I'm now a captain in good standing, and haven't been able to get any friends an interview.

It is a mystery to me and most at F9. I've flown with new hires that have come from turbo-prop operators with no jet time, and furloughed folks from almost every major. The one thing they have in common is a good attitude.

Good luck!

Interview Call

Got the call to go interview March 9, 2004.

I will keep you informed of my progress and how long it takes to get to training. If any of my friends tell me I will pass it along as well.

Crashpad:

I said correct me- not insult me! Thank you so much for your keen insight and thoughtful words of wisdom. What a pleasure it is to have someone like you on this forum!

It was'nt meant as an insult, so don't expect an apology.
Insightful? Yep. Thoughtful? Very little.
If you think there's a secret code, read my thread again, but don't take it so personally. The answer to your question is there.

Anybody have any idea of what they are looking for besides what is on their website? I have done the online app, and am hoping for the call. I feel like i may be a little low on time with 4000tt, 3500 multi and only 750 turbine. Please keep us posted Jetsi.

A friend who is an ex-Laker mentioned that they are still trying to pick up as many of the ex-Vanguard guys as they can. Supposebly chief or asst. was there and that is how this came about. He has 5500TT 4000 121 PIC and has been unable to get interview there.

good luck on the interview

I had heard that they like the fractional guys becuase of EFIS and FMS experience, but that isn't from what I would call a reliable source.

When I got the call Francine in HR specifically mentioned that I had a LOR, so I think that weighs heavily as well. I know a few guys with less time than me who have been hired with a LOR.

The LOR I had just said that I had flown with the guy before, went through sim training before, and was an all around good guy (use the adjectives of your choice). Just a couple of paragraphs.
