Was wondering if aircraft like the A320, B737, B757/767, or MD80 have anti ice on the vertical and horizontal stab. I just read an article about a Skywest CRJ that had its tail ice up on an approach to someplace in SD.

No ice protection on the empennage of the CRJ. Apparently Bombardier doesn't seem to think it warrants it. Just on cowls/wings.

B777 has wing anti-ice only for the three mid-wing slats on each side, nothing on the tail. MD-80 has anti-icing for wing and tail, although if doing a flaps 28 landing you need to remember to push the button 1 minute before the FAF as I recall.

The 717 has wing and tail anti-ice.

I never flew the MD80, but if the systems are similar, you probably manually de-ice the tail when you are operating in a single bleed-source situation.

DC-10 had no anti ice on tail- however the MD-11 does. Dont really know why although in different airplane designs ice accumulates differently.

No tail a-ice on the 737, if I remember correctly. And there's none on the tail of the RJ, either.

The MD-80 has wing anti-ice, engine anti-ice and tail de-ice. The tail de-ice switch must be press prior to entering the final approach fix in icing conditions, every 20 minutes during cruise flight while operating in icing conditions. Also tail de-ice must be selected after you turn of wing anti-ice.
