Looks like Daddy Delta is taking notice of our stellar performance. Instead of management taking responsibility for the position we are in, we get a chastising email telling us we really need to perform at our highest level. ( I guess implying that we don't normally)?

Some of you guys get satisfaction out of being the first one on FI to post company emails, and I'll tell ya, it's pretty sad.

Nope not this year again, lack of planning on your part........ well everyone at ASA know's the rest. Unbelievable is all I can say

SH cited 11+ reasons why our staffing is at "critical mass" and this one was not included: Didn't hire enough pilots.

It doesn't matter how badly mismanaged this place has been, it is now up to us pilots to break our backs this week to cover up their mistakes and save face. Unbelievable.

Day 3 of 4 and my trip is now all the way up to an "H".....2 dead heads today.....3 canceled flights.....not a single D0 and only 1 A14....3 hours late to the first overnight, 1 hour late to the second and wait for it....8 hours late to the third one!.....all for 30 minutes of extra pay.....kiss my ass ASA. I'll watch this place crumble under scheduling and plannings gross stupidity and go look for another job after pissing on the ruble before I lift a finger to help things move along any more.

By the way, NO I am not even on reserve. I am actually quite senior.

FIX SCHEDULING, DUMMY. DAMN, ENOUGH ALREADY....

It's mind boggling! The most aggrivating thing about all of this is that guys/girls on the front line have seen this coming for some time! After last summer's disaster, I thought there's no way that managment allows a repeat of that. But sure enough here we are and I think it's shaping up to be WAY worse that last year!

It blows my mind that we are in the same position again and the summer schedule JUST started 5 days ago!!! Front line people have been saying for months that we need more employee's in almost all areas. I just don't get it....

This problem has been coming straight at us for over a year, and Management has done nothing significant to address this looming issue.
The poor construction of pairings has driven schedules towards minimum days off, exacerbating the situation. Even if they wanted to extend pilots, there are no more days to extend into.
Still, the email tried to put the blame everywhere but Management. Thanks for all you do.....

"It doesn’t matter how we got here but we need to show ASA runs a quality on time..........". It doesn't matter? Ok everyone should remember that statement. Way to inspire Scott.

ditto.

-Classic SH. That man is world-class awful. A simply horrid human being.

What would be more appropriate at this time is an honest email from management that addresses the reasons why we're running this way. Not a 'we screwed up again' email but one that, perhaps, brings us in on the secret so that we can be part of the solution and not a part of the problem. I've given them the benefit of the doubt and they continue to disappoint. At some point they need to manage their way out of this mess. Time after time they've shown us they can't.

No more rah rah bs, how about some straight operating facts and goals so that we can improve this rapidly declining airline and make everyone's lives a little better? Is that so hard?

Wow, all I can say is wow. They fudged up, now its my fault? Take a look in the mirror mgt, your way out in left field on this, the failures our your responsibility not mine, you have the mangers salary not me.

I hope you ALL bombard Brad H and CC Scott letting them know you don't appreciate the slap in the face. I know I'm going to.

This is NOT the way to foster teamwork. Scott needs to be FIRED for this!! You want me to comply with the FOM? NO PROBLEM. I vow to operate the SAFEST airline in existence.

I thought Id seen it all, but after 9 years they managed to piss me off more than I thought possible. More than the last contract negotiations.

Fly safe....and write those emails!!!!!

Well it sounds like the powers that be are awake now. I don't want to see this place implode, but if it does those mgmt clowns better be bagging groceries for the rest of their miserable lives. This is/was all preventable. Even with all of this, they're still doing that 200% BS based on block and not credit. What a load.

Dear Mr. Holt,
When you came to ASA it was in turmoil and you treated the Pilots and Flight Attendant's with respect and gave the tools and management to turn it around. In turn the employee's showed you back breaking efforts to turn ASA into one of the top airlines out there. And now you are back where you started and worse, why? Stop blaming everyone else and tell the group why you have to run it this way if you must. Did the pay cut from Delta cost so much you can't make money, did the Expressjet buyout bite you harder than you thought? The management style has obviously changed, but why? You treat the employees like garbage and you get garbage in return at some point. Scott H.'s letter is not going to help your situation if you truly want improvement.

Sincerely,
Your employees

PLEASE send that

89 cancellations for June 14-15 as of 01:00 on the 15th. The day is still young. see you tomorrow.

ASA is imploding

I don't know call me crazy, it sounds like Scott is falling on his sword and asking for help. I don't agree with everything he's done and he might be part of the problem. But, he is asking for help

So one weekend of performance will change mainline's view of us? WOW, why didn't we think of that during the years it took us to change their perception the 1st time!

Management must have learned that from experience at pulling us out of the toilet.

I don't think it SH as much as CT is pulling the strings. SH is just the sh*t catcher on this. Whats done now cannot be fixed overnight, the cost savings really has come at to great a cost.

If he were falling on his sword, he would have admitted to staffing problems (the majority of the cancellations today) as being an issue.

We need to see some sort of plan here. Just asking for help is like a meth-head asking for directions to the rehab clinic they already know the way to. We have been begging for help for over a year now, and they have done nothing for us. Extra effort this week does nothing but prolong the agony, unless there is a plan in place and working.
