ANC FedEx trips.

ANC is an MD-11 base for FedEx. It is the primary sort facility for all cargo coming from the Pacific. The flights from the Pacific (NRT, HKG, SIN, TPE, KIX, ICN, etc) will arrive in ANC in the late morning early afternoon, packages will get sorted, and then the outbound flights to the lower 48 (EWR, OAK, LAX, IND, MEM, etc) will leave in the afternoon to arrive in time for the night sort. At the same time, flights from the lower 48 will depart the sort facilities in the early a.m. and arrive in ANC in the morning, packages will get sorted, and the flights to the Pacific will depart in the late morning and early afternoon. That is the basic flight operation schedule for ANC.

For ANC, we will categorize the lines as West and East for simplicity.

West Lines.

The ANC west-bound trips depart ANC between 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning. They will arrive in the Pacific (NRT, ICN, KIX, TPE, etc) in the early morning.

An Example of a West-bound Line

ANC – NRT: Dep 1130L and Arrive 1200L, 20 hour layover in NRT

NRT – SIN: Dep 1300L and Arrive 1920L, 38 hour layover in SIN

SIN-PEN-TPE: Dep1130 and Arr 1240L, Dep 1430L and Arr 1900L, 27 hours in TPE

TPE-HKG-SFS: 1900-2030, 2140-2330, 26 hour layover in SFS

SFS-HKG: 0330-055, 39 layover in HKG

HKG-ANC: 2045-1433L

Basic example of a line.

East Lines.

ANC-OAK. Dep 1615L and arrive at 2137L. Layover in OAK

From there you may fly domestically for a few days and then the return to ANC

OAK-ANC. Dep 0300L and arrive 0630L

That is ANC flying in a nutshell.
