If you read the original post, you will understand the whine. Did not say I was pissed at working the holiday. It was the fact that I was told the day before. No notice.

PS Buff. You seem to be a good source of info on other post's. Please don't fall into the FI negative spin.

And NO, this is not my first peak with AMF, nore first job out of instruction.
Late.

If you've done peak before, or any other flying for our primary customer then you should be well aware of the reason for short notice. It's astonishing that they make so much money with a last minute thrown together plan of attack, and especially so during their "peak" period. They generally don't know what they're doing until the day before or of Christmas eve, and 24 hours notice is one of several steps in the right direction for them. Frankly, as a seasoned freightdog, you should have seen that coming down the pipe a mile away.

Beech, I do understand. This thread has been going no where. I worked along with my brothers. Several people were told 10-15 hours before. Yet Dispatch knew we would work a normal day for two weeks. (yes typical amf anticks). When I see the schedule printed, I make personal plans. That was all. If things change, So should the modivation to work $$$$$$$$$$.

I'm not sure where you expected it to go. From everything you have said, it sounds like a communication problem at your base and not company wide. Seems like guys from other bases knew pretty well in advance what was going to happen. I suggest you bring it up with your ACP.

Yes you are correct. Our base did not inform us. I asked the question to find out if other base got the bomb dropped on them. I.E.(UPS made the last minute change) My first thought was that the ACP might of done it on purpose. So I was looking to get the low down from others. Thanks

If you had important plans to make, did you try asking ops what would be expected that day beforehand?

Why would the ACP do it on purpose? Do you think it's fun to have a bunch of po'ed guys working for you? I personally know ALL the acp's and can't think of one who'd do something like that...

Why would anybody want to ship anything Saturday before XMas???

Are you sure this isn't your first rodeo?
