I used to work for a couple other outfits that supplied charts. One thing to keep in mind though: Do you trust the last person who flew the plane to leave ALL of the charts that you might need for that day in the binder? Small out fit, yeah, maybe I would. Large outfit. Heck no!

It has never been a problem.

Hey it's funny you mention that, I saw one of the dudes in the white shirts runnin' around with a 727 MX book saying something about expansion and buying Express.Net. Maybe it's a sign...

The only sign there would be on your back that says kick me :) j/k

Of course Im sure they spent thousands getting that BS expemption from having to supply their flight crews with jepp charts.

Is it in the FARs that 135 operations are supposed to provide charts and plates to their crew?

It is, but AMF simply says they are including the monies required for chart into our paychecks, so in their eyes they are supplying the means, we are just required to phone the order in. BS, huh? Funny thing is, it's not listed as a seperate column on the paycheck and I'm still paying taxes on my "chart fund". As Borat would say, "Nnniiiiiicccce!"

I wish they had told me that before I signed on, like an asterix in the pay column *= minus expenses. I read somewhere Flight Express is paying $40k/year to fly C210s. My 90 days is up, they figure they might keep me a while, so I start to get my bennies, just trying to figure out how to afford them, thankfully I don't live in Cali. I can't see how anyone could afford Calif on PA31 wages.

Do any of the oldtimers remember when the monies were added to pay for the charts, or did we get a pay cut at the same time we were given a chart expense 'bonus'?
