Asked MM about it this week, he said there was not going to be a change. Its just a rumor.

I'm eating my words.....the bomb has dropped. 5 on 2 off with a rotating 12 on 2 off once a month. Bull$hit!!!!! I tried to remain optimistic about all this, but it just sucks, plain and simple. I just want to say good luck to all commuters. Its supposedly better for the guys that live at base, but we'll just have to wait and see how things work out.

Its not a rumor anymore. Everyone knows. Or they will by the end of the day.

Netjets is hiring, schedule is 7 on 7 off, $110,611. after 5 years and a 3 week vacation every 4 months, 3 week vacation every 3 months after ten years.

Bases are Dallas, West Palm Beach, Los Angeles, Columbus and Teterboro.

Somebody might say again "too much tevo..." but now is really time to
DROP THE CANNOLI ADN TAKE THE GUN!!!!

What do they expect us to do? just to accept it as it comes and move from base to base and change life?
If you want to talk about changes in order to bring back financial health to the company, why don't you tell me about the other changes?
Are Upper Mgmt and Mid mgmt and dispatch and Accounting taking a pay cut or making any changes in order to revitalize the company as a whole?
We are not making money so we are going to change schedule and base assignements to save on airline tickets etc. etc.

First of all we do not need no additional DC-9 or try to bring back to life old birds good only for the scrap yard or some middle-school field trip;
we need competent dispatching and sales personnel to be out there and attract customers and diversify the customer portfolio, in order to do some "perestroika" , we need shorter wait time on the phone when you need to get in touch with HQ rather than 5-7 minutes on hold...can you imagine the new customers holding for 5-10 minutes on the phone...go to next outfit!!!
And on top of perestroika we need some glasnost (honesty and transparence)
and it sounds somewhat like that: Dear employees or co-workers, we have some changes in mind what do you think? do you have other ideas or alternatives in order to make it better? How much time is acceptable before any change takes place 1, 2, 3, months? no...2 weeks!!!

I am moving forward I don't know about you guys but best of luck.

Very good post.

I agree with you. I am sure that if 50 pilots put their already educated heads together they could offer a list of other solutions. Knowing that the dispatchers are incompetent, there have got to be a few better ideas than this.

I don't appericate Mid Mgt keeping us in the dark, denying the rumors then POW, right in the kisser.

Man, ameristar is a hella step up from the box bashers I was flying for before. In training I actually learned. MX, well we all complain about that, but what do you expect, our planes are 40 yrs old. MGT, i was referring to the chiefs, good group of guys. I'm sure after a few years I might see things your way, but for now I'm pretty happy with the company.

Geez, only a 3 month honeymoon...

couldn't imagine worse news to get after an all nighter and then have the crew scheduler argue with me when I went off duty, then relize he is too dumb to understand what I am saying.(At 8 am central).
