Question for all the Ameriflight guys...

How many hours a month are you flying? (I know this will vary by base and aircraft, but I'm just trying to get an idea) Is it unreasonable to hope that a newhire could be bagging 80 hours a month? Thanks..

What about all the gals here at AMF??

Flight time totally depends on your seniority and what lines (runs) your able to hold.

If you like being bent over and whipped, AMF is the perfect place to experience the 14-15 hour duty day with 5-6 hours of single pilot, IFR, blah blah blah in the log book at the end of the week

Most piston runs are out in the morning, back in the evening M-F. 3-5 hours flight time with a 6-8 hour layover somewhere. I'm flying an outstation run in the 99 (Mon PM through Sat AM). I average about 60-65 hours a month with a 6-7 hour duty day. I started on the MMH Lance run (4hr/day so about 80hr/month), and the Chieftain run I did in PDX was 4.5-5.5/day, so 90-100hr/month. I would say that's a pretty good idea of what to expect.

What about all the gals here at AMF??
What gals? I haven't seen a female pilot here in ages. Recruiting needs to do something about that.

Oak

Hey guys and gals,
Possibilty of moving to the bay area soon. I plan on applying to Ameriflight if this move goes through. What type of equipment is out of OAK and how long is the upgrade to a twin at OAK if the lance is the starting point there. Also, is Ameriflight ready for check 21? Thanks. I'm also interested in flight instruction jobs in the bay area particularly towards SMF since it looks like I will be in Solano county. thanks.

What about the 1900s? Does anyone know where they're based, runs, etc. Thanks.
When I was there many years ago, they were based in BUR, PDX, BFI, PHX, and CVG. All fairly short runs - no more than 4 hours a day flight time.

Ameriflight

Frac Capt ... Mathmatics ...

"fairly short runs" ...

4 hours a day X 20 days a month = 80 hrs a month

80 hrs a month X 12 months = 960 hours a year

I wouldn't call that "FAIRLY SHORT" ...

Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it.

Oakland has everything, PA32, PA31, BE99, SA227, and LR35. Not sure about 1900s. Maybe someone else can chime in. Upgrade from the Lance to Chieftain is running somewhere around 2-3 months. Could be longer or shorter.

In regards to check 21, I believe our Lear's received another 1 year contract to fly for the U.S. Federal Reserve. After that, nobody is sure what will happen to those flights. However, rumor has it that Ameriflight is looking into the passenger charter business. We already have one Learjet doing charters, with another one apparently being configured to a passenger seating configuration. We'll see what happens.
