SJU is considered domestic, so you shouldn't have to do anything different.

You guys are on the list to be added, eventually... unfortunately not on there yet. Company's adding on about 1-2 airlines every couple of months.

Thanks for accomodating us as well. Air Willy will eventually be added.

I got screwed. I got down there fine, everybody was very nice. When I showed up at the gate to go back a VERY MOODY gate agent showed up. I was my usual VERY NICE offline 121 pilot begging for a jumpseat. The gate agent was not happy as she started looking through my paperwork. She asked where my Passport was and I told her I did not have one. She looked right at me and said I could not jumpseat without a passport and she couldn't believe I was traveling without one and then pushed my stuff back at me and turned away. I was dumbfounded.

Now when I called AA before I left I was told I did not need anything, Especially a passport. Maybe one is specifically needed for jumpseaters but I have never had to do it elsewhere on AA. Good luck.

Ahh those pesky gate agents. Unfortunately the key at AA is getting past the agents... whereas at most other airlines the PIC actually has a say! (what a concept.)

Good advice above... that being, if you leave the mainland U.S., it is probably a good idea to carry a passport - even if it is a US territory.

No kidding

Puerto Rico is a US colony, not a state like Hawaii or Alaska.
Do not leave home without yer passport when ya are jumping out of the mainland.
(Homeland these days)

Secret Squirrel,

You should feel flattered, sounds like you were treated just like any other AA pilot trying to non-rev travel. No being AA, what you really miss is the thrill of getting left at the gate, then getting on the computer and finding out the flight had 15 empty seats.

AA gate agents are terrible. They think that they know everything and they infact have no idea. I have been refused the jumpseat so many times because they don't know their job. If I try to explain to them how American Connection pilots can sit in the jumpseat or even show them in sabre they flip out with there nazi attitude.
"Your not a CAS carrier so you can't sit in the jumpseat. Now go away I don't want to here your opinion."
- "Miss please pull up F*2 of the Jumpseast agreement."-
"Oh no he didn't, Your tellin me hows to do my job; you'll be lucky if I let you nonrev, now leave me alone so I can chew my gum."

PS: Has anyone ever noticed how many buttons the gate agents have to push to get something done at American. Its F--ing rediculous.
