American Eagle Jumpseat

Does American Eagle allow unlimited jumpseaters? Also, is STX-SJU typically a tough flight to jumpseat? Thanks!

Most likely something your JS coordinator would know. My experience has been mixed. Some stations have allowed unlimited while others won't. The company I work for is limited with AA and AE.

AA only allows as many jumpseaters as there are jumpseats. some stations will clear you as a non-rev anyways but dont count on this in SJU or STX. other then that you can usaly get on AE stx-SJU. just make sure youre ducks are in a row as in calling ahead to the non rev line becuase non of the agents will help you down there.

AA and AE is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to use because of their ridiculous rules. Any plan to try to improve it for the off liners?

That is not true. AA has different agreements with different airlines. Some are limited to the same number of jumpseats, while other are unlimited(however many seats are open in the back)

AA allows intl js to a few airlines. I'm looking at the list and the legacy carriers, a couple of regionals and one LCC (that doesn't even fly intl) are on the intl list.

AE's problem is their equipment, maybe the ATR is fine but the rest of them are weight limited. But the pilots are helpful.

No international jumpseating, limiting the number of jumpseaters depending on the airline, how the gate agents won't list you if you are on plan C running late and when you try calling the 1-800 number it is a 15 minute hold and the plane leaves in 20 minutes, etc...

AA allows int'l to a few legacy carriers, but the TSA ruled that out of the question. A few of the big named legacy carriers and cargo companies I think, but at least they torched that idea.

According to the ALPA jumpseat guide, all international destinations are considered domestic for the purpose of jumpseating. Any Eagle guys in SJU confirm this?

The jumpseat is offered to pilots of any carrier that has a reciprocal agreement with the airline. Some off lines are "limited;" meaning only one jumpseater per flight. Check with your local chairman for your status. Gate personnel have the authority to issue the jumpseat if you riding in the back, but always check in with the PIC. Priority is determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Casual first-class attire or uniform is required, along with airline ID, pilot certificate, and boarding pass. John F. Kennedy and Dallas/Ft. Worth Airports use vans to transport passengers from the gate to the aircraft—at these locations, please check in at the gate 15 to 20 minutes before departure.
