Just wanted to know if Eagle is taking off line jumpseater to the Islands out of SJU? I'm planning on heading to Tortolla this month and was hoping to catch an Eagle jumpseat. Worse case, I guess I could jump into STT and ferry it over to Beef Island. Any Eagle guys know the scoop and could drop me some info? Thanks in advance....

I am 98% positive that everything Eagle flies is considered domestic, so yes you can. Depending on the airline you work for, the rules kinda suck though. Some airlines have unlimited agreements, and some airlines have a limited agreement, which means that if you are on the limited agreement, and another jumpseater checks in before you, you are SOL...even if there are 30 avail seats in the back.

Colonel....

Thanks for the reply. I work for UPS and I used to work for Eagle out of SJU a while a go, but don't remember the nitty gritty, especially after 911.... I thought that Beef was considered international, but if its not then no big deal. I'll check with my JS coordinator to see if we have multiple jumpseats on Eagle. If anyone else has more info on this I'd really appreciate it. Again... thanks in advance...

Beef island is international. British virgin islands. Had to buy a ticket from sju to beef island, however delta flies into stt almost every day. Should be no problem, ferrys are very reliable from stt to tortola. Been to just about every island in the chain, does not get to much better.

I know you're correct about Tortola being an international destination from SJU, but I need to know if Eagle allows off line jump seaters in the back for international destinations?

Yo Networ-King,

Sorry man...I did a little more research. UPS is on the limited agreement, but I did find that everything Eagle flies is considered domestic as far as jumpseating is considered per the ALPA website. Sometimes the agents think differently though. Definitely have a backup just in case. Hope this helps, and goodluck again.

I guess I'm wrong wrong about the international thing..... thanks for the heads up....

Officially this might be right, but the ticket/gate agent will always be your biggest problem.

I tried to jumpseat on Eagle out of Barbados last year, and was told by the agent that since my airline's jumpseat agreement didn't include international flights I was not permitted to ride. I had a backup, but it was inconvenient by several hours.

Greeeeeaaaattt.......

Cause gate agents are always so happy with their jobs  now a days. I guess I'll find out soon enough..... and if any of you executive guys down in SJU can clarify any of this I'd really appreciate it.

Just take Cape Air. They will take you no problem and riding on a 402 is kinda fun.

The gate agents at Cape Air air are no problem and the pilots are good people.

You can get the schedule at the link below. This time of the year (summer schedule) they have 3 round trips a day. During the winter they have even more.

They leave out of concourse B (down stairs). You can call and check loads and/or list by calling 1-800-352-0714.

Enjoy the islands! Your picking one of the nicest ones.

Hey Broke,

That would be awesome.... I used to fly the 402 and it was one of the best times I've ever had in aviation. Thanks for the heads up. There are lots of options and I think Capeair and Eagle are the best ones right into Beef. Don't wanna do the STT thing unless I really have to.... thanks again for all the help guys.
