For people looking to get into a regional, you might want to start looking harder at eagle. (P.S. I will recommend you, :D)

more importantly, only 3 CA slots (OCC) will not be backfilled.

Yes, forgot to mention that, for the last four months the CA bids have been at least 40. Very exciting for everyone in the company.

so how junior is the bids going? are they post 9/11 seniority yet?

What are the competitive mins to getting hired?

Not yet, but getting there fast. New hires should be looking at a max of 4 years for the jet and 3 years for the prop.

Thanks.....I probably have a chance then!!

got offered the job just waiting on my drug test, captains board, and back ground check to come in to get everything confirmed. only 3 out of 8 made it that day. great operation, impressive facility can't wait to get a class date

Congrats, you will really enjoy working here. And yes they bounce a ton out of the interviews, even though they are desperate they still have very high standards. My interview class of 12 had ten get booted before the physical.

Eagle has a great group of pilots and FAs. When the door was closed and it was just the 3 of us banging around the country I enjoyed my job. Eagle management sucks. Period. The APA will screw an Eagle pilot over whenever they can. Fact. Get your seniotity number, upgrade asap then GTFO ASAP. Remember any d.o.u.c.h.e.b.a.g from Centreport can pay $10 get a login on flightinfo and post garbage like this guy.
The best day of my career at Eagle is when I gave my 2 weeks notice.

See, not everyone likes it.

what you have to realize is eagle is one of the better regionals and life at eagle is a lot better than life at mesa, pinnacle, etc. it is the lesser of all evils.

that being said, it is a regional airline and ALL regional airlines suck.

I forgot to add great news on the 79 new captain slots. Many deserving guys will finally be able to upgrade and move on if they choose.
I could be contradicting myself here but if a regional is your career job Eagle would be one of the better airlines to fly for.

It's also good new for us that just joined the AMR family. Plus the lines in the SAAB look ver very very nice.

A regional should never be a career, unfortunatly too many at Eagle feel that it is.

Well...I disagree. Senior Eagle captain:

-$110,000/yr
-good 401k
-4-5 weeks vacation/yr
-great travel benefits
17-19 days off per month

Unfortunately that is for the very senior pilots. It should be there once the senior guys retire but it will not be for a very long time. I believe it is a good place if you are 15+ years on property. Unfortunately Eagle management will always be the same and the APA will always have their 'scope' on Eagle pilots.
If you want out take your first upgrade. Do not wait for the jet. I was a Saab captain for just over 4 years and was on reserve all but 4 months. Lots of ready reserve too. Many guys at Eagle around my seniority fell into the Eagle black hole. Enjoying weekends off, great schedules as senior FOs and did not want to bite the bullet to upgrade. If you want out take that upgrade in the ATR or SF3, commute to SJU, LAX, or DFW and suck it up on reserve for a year. It was worth it for me.
