Standard first class medical stuff. They put you in one of those hearing booths which was my biggest concern since I'd been flying a Saab for six years. Pee in a cup, couple of eye tests, standard physical and your done.

I found the eye test to be quite challenging. Even though I hold an unrestricted 1st class they could only get my left eye at 20/25. They were gracious enough to allow me to fax a letter from my eye doctor the next day verifying that he measured me at 20/20. I talked to another guy there who had the same thing happen.

I'm with reepicheap - the eye test is a real bear!!

And some people are getting the prostate exam !! Depends on what doctor is doing the exam!!

The good thing is that you don't have to go by their exam for glasses, as long as you still can pass your regular FAA exam you don't have to wear glasses. I think they just do it this way to clear themselves of any legalities.

Really? According to PHXFLYR you only get this after 5-7 years as an AWA FO. :)
