Somalia was none of our business.. think we shouldn't have helped? The Japanese were building a brutal empire and we did nothing, then they attacked.

Hey PatMack.........I'll agree with that too, I have been reading Michael Moore, and I've been watching his movies...........but that is all I've got to base my thoughts on! If you read my original post's I am asking...............not inciting, although the beer tends to talk louder than I do.

Like I said before 2 sides to every story, I came to this forum to find out what you guy's thought................HOWEVER, I should know better than to come to a forum fighting for "the" cause and try to ask feelings about it!! I'm actually flying with an Army guy and he's giving me some good insight about what peoples general thoughts are and why, and if I offended anyone, I apologize.

I think it's big of you to come back and apologize and clearify your reasoning. It seems as though you are another victim our glorious media system. I, in turn, will apologize for jumping down your throat on this, but I tend to get a liitle worked up about certain issues and this is one of them. I hope you can see that there are many veterans and others that believe that we HAD to take a stand somewhere when it comes to radicals. Hope I was able to give you another perspective (rright or wrong).

Thanks for seeing what I was trying to say........I think you are right about the media..but what do you expect us lay folk to think when all we see is two very biased sides of every issue. I don't trust anything that the newspapers or the news casters say, I'm just going on what I read.......and yes I saw "bowling for columbine" first ( about a month ago), and then read and saw other Michael Moore documentaries! Have you seen any of them, and with what I have seen what am I supposed to think about this stuff? Is he telling the truth about things or does he just bend it to make people think like him?

Anyway, wrong venue for all of this..................or maybe not. Or, Maybe I should have started my posts with my last paragraph.

I guess the only thing I can say is try to find stories that give both sides and make up your mind. Or find people that have direct knowledge of the situation and ask them (some on this board have been to Iraq, myself included). Everything can be twisted or edited to support whichever view the author wants to give to support their own agenda. Does Michael Moore have an agenda? Yes. Does Rush Limbaugh? Yes. You have to make up your own mind, but make sure you get both perspectives and try to sort through all the BS.

Well, I still don't know about the upcoming elections. I did vote for bush last time and I think he did a great job post 9/11. I'm too jaded now by watching farenheit 9/11 and Bowling for columbine. You guy's seem to have some respect for Bush and that makes me think he can't be all bad. Well, we'll see! AND I don't have a Kerry/Edwards sticker on my car. It's on my flightbag!!! (Joke)

I'm watching the olympics and the men's soccer team from Iraq is doing pretty good considering they didn't have a field to practice in until Bush sent you guy's there! It's easier to play when people aren't being shot in front of the goal line. Apparently some good things DO come from war! In fact they just barely made the cut to get into the olympics!!!!
