Nice try, but I think that CEO's and executives fit this description much better. And we know which party of our government gives them this power.

Wrong. The stock holders give them this power. Unlike governments and unions though if the company does not stay profitable it shuts it's doors. A company cannot just go out to it's customers, reach in there pockets, and take more money from them.
