give me a break

first, why would Pinnicle pilots want to fly the Q

second, if they do try and staple all the Colgan Pilots will quit....Most of us have enough PIC to get a job anywhere

third, there will not be enough pilots to man all the planes unless pinnicle airlines looses all there RJ flying and has to fly Colgans prop flying....Colgan to the rescue

forth, we will be ALPA way before this comes to a settlement and surely colgan ALPA will not allow a staple most likely it will be date of hire with fences put up for the captains....Im sure this will be discused with ALPA National or Other Union Choices on our next union drive

Don't get me wrong I am glad you now have some leverge on the company for your negotiations on a new contract, God knows you need one. I am sure the company will not sign a new contract with you unless you conceed on this issue.

So.

One of two things will happen you can fight to merge the lists which might happen sometime in the next two years or you can fight to get paid more but I dont think you can do both.

"PIC time to get a job anywhere" Now thats funny. Perhaps you have been camping in the middle of nowhere for the last couple of weeks but

...............there are no jobs right now. Everyone has CX'd classes for the immediate future. Better get used to the idea of Colgan for a while.

aint that a b!tch

According to the latest memo sent to the Colgan group, PNCL ALPA did not win anything, they are going to keep that ruling tied up in court for years or at least till this recession is over.

What else did you expect from management?

We got the same 'eff you pilots' memo from our management regarding the arbitration ruling.

This really is not accurate at all. The final outcome will be a single list with all pilots eventually having access to all aircraft after the fences expire. The fences are just the first step in the process.

This will be in the court system for as long or short a time as the courts deem. It has nothing to do with what the companies desires are.

It could be as little as 6-12 months. The decision has already been made by the arbitrator. The court will just have to enforce it.

Those memo's about this ruling are just posturing by the company. They just are not ready admit that they lost. And ofcourse they want to delay the what has become an obvious outcome.

So how was anything I said "not accurate"?

I'm still trying to figure out why Pinnacle thought it was a good idea to buy a failing aged turboprop airline in the Northeast that pays for their own fuel, doesn't turn a profit, and has an average load factor of 40% - just to gain business with other carriers? Seemed like a rough way to go about it to me. Nothing against Colgan, I just don't see how that made any sense. Every Colgan pilot I've talked to has said things have only gotten worse since the purchase.

This arbitration has nothing to do with Pinnacle pilots getting access to the Q400's, etc... It's just for fence agreements with seniority. All this hoopla about "we're taking your flying" is made-up. Besides, Pinnacle Holding will drag this out for at least another 2 years.

And another thing. The always safety minded first folks that run this place just came up with a new method to combat our understaffed pilot group. Fatigue Policy #2 ! Now you have to file a flight safety report, call scheduling, call the base manager, and have a carpet dance to justify why you were fatigued. If this isn't completed in 24 hours of the call then your fatigue call "isn't justified". So I assume that's a mistrip? Just another scare tactic from the local Memphis talent.

Are we having fun yet?

Sorry, I only disagree with the bold statement.

I agree with you that our management saying that they "needed colgan for their relationship with other airlines" was a lie. We got the delta contract without a "previous relationship". Other regionals get new contracts all the time with "new" partners.

What they wanted was the cheap non-union labor. Thats all.

I saw this posted at the company forum:

Message from CS – Many of you are talking about the story in The Commercial Appeal (Memphis) today that refers to a recent dispute with ALPA related to Colgan. The headline and the story lead you to believe that ALPA has won a major victory (not true) and some people could interpret the result to be a merger between Pinnacle and Colgan. That is definitely not true, nor will it be. There is no plan or intention to combine the two companies. The law classifies this as a “minor dispute” and this decision will have no impact whatsoever on Pinnacle’s operations or Pinnacle’s People, including our Pilots. See CS's Weekly Message for complete details.

what is a "minor dispute" contractese for?

"minor dispute" is a term that basically means the issue gets resolved via the system board instead of the courts.

In this case, since the company appears to be refusing to abide by the binding decision of the arbitrator, the courts may have to get involved to enforce the decision.

Turbo

So when this thing gets to court, and DAL/NWA reduces 50 seat flying, that is the cue for Colon pilots should update that thir resume?

So I read these posts and from what I know about the arbitrator's decision, not one person on this board has any clue what the decision means. All the decision held is that the holding company has to negotiate with ALPA regarding a fence agreement. It does not mean that the Qs go to PNCL. The company had refused to negotiate and the arbitrator said that the issue has to be negotiated.

The decision said a lot more than that. Your information is faulty. But since you just signed up today and your very first post repeats the management talking points, chances are good that you're just a management plant anyway.

Actually I am relaying info given to me by an ALPA contract administrator from another property. You can assume whatever you like about me, I am just comparing what I was told from a very reliable source with what I am seeing on this board.
