Didn't go well; only a little over 40% called in to vote, meaning we didn't get the simple majority we needed.

Depressing is an understatement.

Thanks for the interest, though.

That's worse than Chicago Express. Well, what'd you expect? All management has to do is point at, for example, what's happening to the Eagle guys.

ALPA's not doing a good job of selling itself to regional--I mean "small" pilots.

Why such a low number...

Sooo much more not needed at Commutair than needed!

Quite frankly I think ALPA did a very poor job at answering some very legitimate questions that folks had. Some questions were answered with not very veiled threats as well. For instance at one meeting a question about why we should vote in ALPA was answered by a COEX ALPA representative with this "It would be a real shame if you couldn't jumpseat on us anymore". I know of at least a few votes that answer cost.

In the end though I think the burning question many had, and never got answered, was how much could ALPA really do for a group of 200 pilots who fly Beech 1900s at a company that has been struggling the last three to four years? And how much in the way of resources would ALPA spend on such a small pilot group?

Anyway, it is over and those of us at Commutair can FINALLY put this issue to bed. Thankfully.
