PolarisWhats all This??? I thought Aloha was hiring? What happend? Has the sale of island air gone bad?Today 18:26dash8driveractually, he brought it up in response to the questions and mentioned that in order to furlough, they'd have to offer flex bids and loas first. so yes, technically he did use the word.

ok, let me make this clear so no one gets confused. i didnt know it was that complicated, i'm sorry. the company has not said "we need to furlough" or "we are going to furlough" yet.

the rest of my previous post regarding our overstaffing and such still applies.Today 14:03EnglishActually dash8driver, the company DID mention furloughs. Our new illustrious leader, at the union meeting last week. Read about the f-word in the meeting notes emailed a few days ago.Today 08:29dash8driverThe company hasnt mentioned anything about furloughs. there is nothing official out there.

however, we are carrying a bit more people than we normally carry in excess of the staffing requirements. there is other evidence to support the company to consider it, and there is evidence that the company has been considering it.

stay tuned tho, there is a lot that needs to happen before people actually walk the street. even after the company declares we have excess bodies. if anything happens, it wont be til the fall, october or november.Today 05:40Rogue5You'll probably get a better response posting this on the majors board...Today 05:27Av8trxx"FreightDog" is an Aloha F/O and he told me they would be. I also heard it from a Capt I flew with that is married to an Aloha F/O 3 away from getting the cut.Today 04:33kill whiteyIs there any truth to the long-winded rumor that Aloha is gonna be furloughing around 20 guys pretty

Memo just came out today. Furloughs are off, more hiring resuming by the end of the year. New airline starting in Hawaii too, Looks like we go to war!

I just had lunch with my man (da man) at Island Air yesterday, they're looking for plenty of pilots RIGHT NOW! if you ever wanted to fly in Hawaii, now's your chance. You could be in a ground school next month or even quicker.

PS I gave him the scoop on Freedom A and he has a list so dont even try scabs.

Still hiring street captains?

in a big way... as long as the exit door is swinging faster than the entrance door they will always be doing that.

but a word of warning for those that want to be street captains.. there have been very few that made it. most street captains have failed. if i remember correctly there has only been 1 or 2 that have passed. this only counts ppl who went direct to the left seat, not people who spent even a very short time in the right seat before going to the left who some ppl count as street captains if they were 1-2 mo or less in the right seat and skip ahead.

so if you're gonna do it.. go balls out on it...dont slack...
