A friend of mine said an Allegiant crew told him the company is looking into getting Airbus, or possible E-190's. Any truth to this?

Why get those when there will be plenty of cheap American MD80s coming off line and available over the next few years? Cheap (to buy) and reliable airplanes.

I interviewed with them recently and I asked about a future MD-80 replacement. The CP told me that not for a very long time.

nope

Allegiant's biz model will not work with new planes due to AC utilization rate. New birds are expensive and it has to be flown quite a bit per day to make $$.
