Hi!

If I were hired by Allegiant, as a first year FO on the crap pay, at the obviously crap airline, in your opinion, my CEO and kids would be flying ALL OVER N. America and Europe. I'd guess almost twice a month, more some months.

I would also be commuting, which isn't as good as living in base, but, on the other hand, I don't think any of the trips my first year would last for 165 days.

Let's try it another way. Can anyone list (just estimate) the most senior to the least senior pilot domiciles at Allegiant? Which would be impossible to get as a newhire and which would be very possible if interested?

I don't know for certain, but I heard from a friend that the following bases are senior:

1. LAX
2. LAS
3. PIE
4. SFB
5. IWA (PHX)
6. Bellingham
7. Laughlin

I might have left out a domicile or two. Again, you'll have to get confirmation from one of the Allegiant pilots. I know LAX and LAS are quite senior.

Talked to someone there and he was told to expect upgrade at his next recurrent.

LAX was junior assigned for F/O's, meaning they had to assign it - not enough folks bid it. Not sure about Captains.

Captain's were JA'ed in LAX. If past history is any measure, most bases would be available to newhires within a couple of months of reaching the line. The exceptions would be IWA where there are FO's still waiting for it who have been online now for about 1.5 years. Another wait would likely be FLL, where most of the current FO's are locals and pretty well entrenched until there is some growth in that market or they can upgrade.

Can anyone from Allegiant tell me what kind of benies you have for your family? Like health insurance how much is deducted and what type, travel benefits or zedfare etc....

Why would you consider applying? APPLY!! Why wait? Get the paperwork in and don't let time tick by dude. I've talked to guys that say that statement and ask 'why ya waiting' then I hear some lame azz excuse. Brother, get it in and worry about the rest later. If you want to work there and could be based (we know how that goes) near home; then pull a Nike and just do it!!

I also want to add that if you fall in love with a base and set up roots there, you may be waiting quite a while if you want to stay at that base as a captain. Virtually all of our growth is due to opening new bases. If you're single and have no ties to a particular area, then no problem. But there are many FOs who are bypassing upgrade for QOL.

Good point....now if I could only find someone willing to overpay for a house I might be able to enjoy some of that "home every night" QOL I keep hearing about. "This says the guy that bought a house 1 month before accepting an upgrade...doh!"

Junior FLL FO is 10/08, next most junior FO is 11/07. It does look like they have added several FO slots into FLL since I last looked. CA's were being used to cover reserve in both seats and the right seat was staffed with that in mind! Maybe that has not been working out as well as planned.

I don't think there has been an increase in FLL flying. There has been an increase in utilization for the FLL crews working out of MIA, thus the need for additional crews.
