I know, I know... Allegiant isn't a major.... The LCC board gets like 3 hits a day and 2 of them are me, so I'm posting this news here for discussion....

Anyhow, big stuff going on over there... IPO, pay negotiations moving in a positive direction, hiring, expansion, a little more name recognition, new crew domicile at KPIE.... Interesting times at AAY....

Great article....

I wish the best for them, but they remind me of SouthEast airlines a few years ago that attemted the same type of flying with MD-80s.

Any truth to the rumour that Allegiant is getting 717's from overseas?

I haven't heard that rumor.... I don't think so.

The only talk about a new type has been to do coast to coast. Can't do that with the 717. The 717 would cost us a lot more to run for less pax. You can buy a lot of gas for a gas guzzler when you're paying next to nothing for your aircraft.

where would they get 717s? spanair? kazakstan? qantas, bangkok or jetstar, or maybe olympic would be trimming their fleet
