I interviewed with ALG in late August. I was hired for the 9/17 class. just called for the12/03 class.
2 things: be yourself and be relaxed. the interview is straightforward and fair. a few technical questions and a few what would you do if..... kinda stuff. the test is basically the atp written(not the math part though). just study it and enjoy the experience. very relaxed environment. i am looking forward to working there.

Thank you and Mike I haven't set up an interview and I too are eager to find out whether Allegheny has a Sim check and what the latest gouge is.
From what I have gathered..everyone that has interviewed with Allegheny seems to to like the company and I too look forward to working there.

Allegheny Airlines

To all asking about working at Allegheny, I just started my sixteenth year there in Dispatch. Like anyplace, you can find those who love it and those who hate it, and those in between. Overall, it isn't a bad place to work, and we are in expansion mode. Currently we have 43 Dash-8s on the schedule, with 45 in January (pre 9/11 was 46). Rumors range from 50-60 in the spring, depending on which version you hear.

I think we will eventually, but when is anybody's guess. Several of our Dashes are approaching 30,000 hours, and most are in the 20,000 hour range, so they won't last forever. The manufacturers are shifting their focus to jets in response to demand, which I think is a shame, because I think turboprops have a viable place in the industry, especially on the short, low flights that make up a good part of our schedule. I think some Dash-400s, supplemented with some -200s (I don't think they make the 100s any more), would be a great aircraft for our operation. But with with consumer preference being what it is, it is only a matter of time until we re-equip. That is, once they resolve the Scope issues with mainline.

i just can't believe that around 2yrs ago we had in the neighborhood of 500 pilots on the property, we're well under 200 now....

Anyone know what the current upgrade times are with Allegheny? Also, I heard a rumor that Piedmont pilots were given job security by their contract in the event that US Airways should sell them...is this even true and if so does Allegheny have the same security? Thanks in advance for the info.
